Whole Foods Gainsharing

Whole Foods Gainsharing: After this current gutting, why would we still have gainsharing? In MA region, you really only do okay with it if you're actually screwed over by call outs or chronically short staffed. How pathetic that global and regional leadership is so willing to throw the bench strength under the bus like this.

remember when they cut those budgets, the money goes somewhere..they are still raising prices and even though the comps or sales might be flat or slight higher than before.somebody gets that cut of money..wall street and corporate level.and to answer the question of how much gainsharing is possible-ive seen teams get surplus/gainsharing checks higher than their actual labor checks at peak season.they want to get rid of this the guy talking about a meat dept. getting an extra 2-4$ per hour, that is exactly the thing the wall street and corporate guys the employee, making a higher cash dividend on the sales than the wall street stock growth rate.i.e. say if you make 10$ per hour and you get that 2$ per hour extra-you are actualizing a 20% growth on your income, whereas wall street might only see 5-8% growth if lucky on the stock value..see........

Wfm needs to Get rid of gainsharing and stop saying they have an incentive program. Ridiculous bc labor budgets get cut in all depts on a reg basis to the poi tto where i cant even do customer service bc im already struggling getting my "actual" work done!

Best example I could give is we had a meat team in maybe 2008-2010 that busted their butts with less people than they could have afforded and really put their passion into what they were doing. They consistently pulled in an extra $300-$600 a month for about a year, which comes down to $2-$4 extra dollars an hour. Pretty sweet bonus.

"septu du sem du jour" - I am a recent joiner (2014) - I do not pay much attention to gainsharing as out store is not doing that well and I haven't see any money from it. Anyhow, would you please share your experience, especially as it relates to "quite lucrative at one point" - I am not trolling or fishing for info here, just a curious history major checking in...

they have wanted to get rid of gainsharing since the first time they had the team members vote on their benefits..i think a.c. gallo, the real c.e.o hated the idea of team members seeing higher return on sales at specific stores than what wall street reaped in returns on the earnings...gainsharing used to be quite lucrative at one point..if you look at your teams calculations for each fiscal year they always cut the labor and give that cut to somebody at corporate or wall street..
