Can one of you faggots post the full text of the article? I can't afford a Barron's subscription due to all of the Indian H1Bs taking away our jobs. :(
This is the only way forward which makes perfect sense. So many sinnergies herein it's really hard to capture in just a few words. The merged QC would regain street cred by gaining immediate dominance in the server market. And, as others have already pointed-out, their labor pool is already operating in a similar fashion, so no loss of traction, only massive consolidations. QC's uncanny ability to unlock Intel shareholder value comes in the form of new marketing campaigns for the Atom processor for use in drones, IoT and biomed, which gives new meaning to the notion of 'Intel inside' as people begin the need to license the use of the copyrighted tattoo on the skin of their nearby body part. In fact, future medical procedures would require such 3D tattoos as the only way to obtain insurance reimbursement. But the biggest win is their untapped IP: ownership of Gordon's crown jewel. By combining QC's armada of legal professionals & Intel's IP, the InQuomm can launch into an entirely new business: Moore's Law enforcement! Violators will be severely fined. A complete turnaround from Intel which is currently backpedaling on the story line.
intc has a larger market cap, I am sure they would like to since their teeth into QTL. QCT would be further outsourced and the few jobs left would move to the valley. Sadly from a corporate culture standpoint Q is becoming very much like Intel. All H1B's with rest and vest old folks at the top. Something like this definitely could happen next year.
I've worked for both, at QC now. Day to day environment pretty much the same. We've hired so many Intel retreads, they have helped drive this place into the ground (why'd we pick up all the bozos ?)
Anonymous175045, how do u explain the relative mkt cap then?
Intel is worth less than Qualcomm and has no viable products in wireless.
The only company worse than Qualcomm for back stabbing politics is Intel. Perfect match. They will go down in flames together.
On demand flying server drones?
Can you post the full article?
If QC revenue continues to deteriorate, Intel might not be worried enough to want to acquire QC. Intel might let QC self destruct. All US companies involved in mobile have closed down that department, except for Intel, which is not really a factor. Intel may also shut down its own mobile and just outsource to Rockchip or Spreadtrum. Intel will enjoy watching QC suffer, and so why buy it.
Nov 5th earnings will give an indication where things are going for qualcomm. But it is possible
imho this is a likely scenario. esp if things go south or even stay at current levels. if you were hating life before, it will only get suckier under Intel.
