During a Wireless employee webcast today, Operations leader John Stratton announced a new organization structure designed to position us closer to our customers. The new structure will improve delivery speed and agility and enable the company to evolve with the changing needs of our customers. Check back soon for the webcast replay. We have created a new market-based structure, eliminating the Area and Regional model and its organization layers and complexity. The new markets are: North East, South East, Great Lakes, North Central, South Central and Pacific. In addition, we are creating a consolidated Wireless Customer Care Group, joining our call centers with customer service strategy and national service operations. We have also formed the Wireless Business Sales and Operations Group, which brings together our wireless enterprise and large corporate account management teams, together with business customer service and business operations. Further, we are streamlining our Wireless Sales and Marketing Operations, Wireless Network, Finance, Legal, HR, IT and PR functions into single organizations to reduce redundancy, drive consistency and to improve speed of delivery to the markets. “Our previous wireless organizational design has served us well since our founding 15 years ago,” Stratton said. “Looking ahead, the next-gen customer’s expectations for everything we do – our products, sales, and service delivery – are very different. We’ll be required to rapidly evolve every aspect of our business. This new structure will speed decision making, and ensure a razor-sharp focus on the changing needs of our current and future customer base.” The Wireless Operations leadership team is: Show David Small will continue to lead Wireless Operations. Verizon to Reduce Number of Regional Offices, Cut Jobs

Verizon Communications Inc., the largest U.S. wireless carrier, informed employees Wednesday that its wireless operations will be reorganized and that there will be an unspecified number of job cuts.
The company’s 20 regional offices will be reduced to six, Verizon spokesman Jim Gerace said Wednesday. He said some jobs will be eliminated though declined to say how many. Sales and store employees won’t be affected, he said.
Verizon, which had a workforce of 177,900 as of the end of the third quarter, is seeking to cut costs as U.S. households give up their traditional home phones in favor of mobile technology.
The company gets about 29 percent of its revenue from landlines, and is investing in wireless and Internet-delivered content. Last month Verizon introduced go90, a free mobile video service with shows aimed at teens. In 2000, landline operations accounted for 67 percent of revenue.

This is an epic thread
REDUNDANCY - rɪˈdʌnd(ə)nsi - noun (British English): the state of being no longer in employment because there is no more work available. - plural noun: redundancies - "the factory's workers face redundancy" -- synonyms: sacking, dismissal, lay-off, discharge, notice; unemployment; one's cards; informal marching orders - "they know redundancy is in the offing" -
- I re-posted, I am allowed to do that. I used a TOR browser which directed my post traffic through a worldwide volunteer network consisting of more than six thousand relays. To spice things up, I've connected through a fee Dutch based (good luck with any privacy affecting subpoena in Holland) proxy as well. Back to TOR - the National Security Agency (NSA) characterized Tor as "the King of high-secure, low-latency Internet anonymity" with "no contenders for the throne in waiting" - NSA is yet to crack it, so if Verizon IT can pull it off I am really f***ed. Enjoy my post!
Reorganization = Redundancies = RIFs ....Believe it
Thanks for the corporate spin but I'm not sure how "Further, we are streamlining our Wireless Sales and Marketing Operations, Wireless Network, Finance, Legal, HR, IT and PR functions into single organizations to reduce redundancy, drive consistency and to improve speed of delivery to the markets." equals no layoffs.
Anonymous186449.....Thank You for sharing BUT writing internal VZ company information on a public forum like this, you may have violated the Code of Business Conduct and can be terminated. YES THEY CAN, trace your post via your IP address to your home address, match home address to VZ billing records ...match billing records against employee data records and Bingo! ..
Yes, there have been layoffs today.
Thank you for the information
You can be terminated for leaking this info
