I agree.... RxM is running a store now in southern cali and senior move to bring ASM as well. I see the direction they are going..
The RXMs title will be changing sometime soon, I'd say within a few months. The SM will be offered to either retire or move into the ASM position but not in their same store (you can understand why), they will eliminate the SM bonus and the RXM will be the "in charge" person. Why? Because again a RXM is required by law to be in the store, not necessarily in the Pharmacy, so they will keep their same pay and the bonus will be slightly more. I mean think about it... eliminate the SM salary, eliminate their crazy bonuses... pay a RXM that already has to be in the store, a slightly higher bonus. It's already rolled out in some areas and they are moving in waves. They are empowering employees to come up with how to resolve things on their own with FRONTIER. BOOTS already and has always had RXM running the stores and who owns WALGREENS? Hang on it's about to become real!
please explain this on Walgreens topix.. I seen this too at one the flagship store. No one believe RXM are taking over.. You are correct
I heard that this was going to roll out in the next fiscal year, but slowly. They are in meetings now in districts.
They are going to start restructuring the store manager, maybe even eliminate them. The pharmacy manager has to be in the store-- it's the law, the title will be changed and they will be in charge (manager) of the entire store and the ASMTs will be the ones running the store but the Pharmacy Manager will be in charge of the whole store.
I mean it makes sense, if you have to have a RXM and you are paying them a bonus... why not eliminate the SM and their huge bonuses.... save $$$
They have been training us on store functions over the past year... operating statements etc
We were told by our MVP a year and a half ago that 2/3 of all store managers would not make it. 1/3 would quit or retire. 1/3 would get fired. The last 1/3 would be ok. If you've noticed the trend so far it's been true. You just need to figure that anyone who makes more money than a starting SM is going away. Frozen ASMs making more than starting SMs now they've gone hourly. The SMs that are left or have any tenure with the company make too much money. Push wages back over 10 years. Remove all real bonuses based on real bottom line numbers. The push now is to clean house to cut expenses and prepare for the Rite Aid merger. All those SMs and Pharmacists will need positions. They are now cherry picking through us. Then they will cherry pick them. Cut, merge, and then will have employees who are "better" while paying them less. Just you land on the right side of the fence or your DM. Be prepared though because they have target numbers to hit. You should also be aware of exactly the type of manager they promoted to most of these positions. Zero loyalty to anyone but themselves. Very cutthroat types.
reduce relief pharmacist hours no more overlap
