Thread regarding AT&T Inc. layoffs

CWA District 9 ..

Is a joke! How long are you going to work without a contract? The company is making organizational changes and the longer you're without a contract the more likely you will to be surplused. Get ready it's coming.

secure cushy jobs

I wish I had that

When the packages, offers come along better go ahead and don't regret and take 'em. As you can read the blogs att is a ship w/o a sail slowly sinking away. Everything comes to an end, Ma Bell has been dead 30 yrs, its not the same company anymore and never will be. If you're burnt out and unhappy it may be best for you to buck on out! frm ex-employee who left with a big smile and Great severance pkg ...smile

high seniority = secure cushy jobs, low seniority= the door, don't waste you money...

The T hates this sight, they don't want people to know about all the future layoffs/surpluses now or in the future!...and how bad they treat them!

by | Post ID:

This sight is for any workers at At&t another kool aide drinker saying its a non union sight.....

: I believe this site is for any and all employees, regardless of whether they're bargained or non-bargained.

This is part of the problem, us vs. them. At the end of the day, we're all minions chasing a paycheck and some job security, regardless of which side of the fence you're on.

Don't tell us what to do, jag-off.

This site is not for Union workers, please post responsibly to you CWA local site

My group has a call tomorrow to discuss downsizing. We have been told 60% will go and the remaining will be moved to other jobs. When asking what jobs we were told further details will be given.

So much for a marketing support group. We have word the sales people will be contractors.

The CWA union is For The 20+ years seniority, junior and new employees beware... And the ruse continues

The younger employees are fooling themselves thinking they will survive. ATT is planning a 75% virtual network and take two guesses who will support the servers and other "virtual" equipment.

Ok, times up...95% will go overseas with very limited USA required support. Have you tried to call ATT for any type of support? It's all outsourced and most people don't even realize it.

ATT and Verizon want all wireless services. Selling to Frontier is the plan and so far it's working.

I have a friend in Connecticut who stayed in ATT when they sold CT to Frontier. 4980 employees with 2300 going to Frontier. that left 2680 in ATT. It has been about 3 years and guess how many ATT employees are left in CT???????? 632. So keep blaming the older worker. HR's plan is working.

Slow quiet closing and layoffs with virtually no one noticing. People keep their heads down and think they are safe.

SO for the older folks to hang in there and make the poor millennials feel bad, tough.

They are making ridiculous changes and demands in hopes you will just quit. The new "green" or contract outsoursed employees are so greedy and dishonest (not to mention rude) that the company turns a blind eye because they are bringing in revenue. Long time loyal customers are leaving and have nothing but negative things to say about the company that was once regarded as good.

So I guess they would rated keep disgruntled employees than customers.

Some CWA District 9 members have BEEN waiting! Bring on the surplus! Some of us old wireline employees are ready to go! I'm not sure why the company is dragging it's feet, they are spending more money keeping us than they would by just offering us our packages and being done with it already! This company is a joke now. And from previous posts, it seems the younger employees have it all figured out and they don't want any of us old guys around anymore. We'll gladly leave, but not empty handed. We've put too many years and sacrifices in to do that.
