Thread regarding CDK Global Inc. layoffs

Officials from cdk india offices have been in u.s. offices evaluating what jobs could be moved out of the us. Rumor is in 2 years they want to offshore the majority of u.s. jobs, in particular R&D. Strategy seems to be coming from MacDonald level (and investors) himself, as i know at least one of his direct reports who has seen the pitfalls and hassel of outsourcing at adp/cdk feel it is a bad strategy as constructed.

This should not come as a surprise. us, canada and maybe european employees should have known for some time they will go. it does not matter how qualified you are.

Lending some possible credence to rumor are the departures (and announced departure) of two longstanding pro-cdk R&D technology and application management.

a close coworker was interrogated about her job by one of these india reps, and was told they were gathering information on hiring in india for similiar positions. multiple members of various levels of management haveconfirmed moving jobs there in private out of fear and empathy towards workers. maybe you dont know what is really going on. Is it cost effective to employ an expensive us workforce when cheaper offshore labor is available? u lose the skill (india STEM education is horrible, worse than US), so it comes down to labor cost. it all makes sense. u think the sky is falling now, it sure will when most of the skilled people at cdk/formerly adp are gone. at least cdk will be making its numbers.

They're were working to co-locate certain jobs that were very spread out as a result of separating from ADP who is literally everywhere. It's not that cost effective for a mid-sized company to be everywhere. Seeing a lot of "sky is falling" type posts and from where I sit it doesn't seem legit.
