Not sure if someone has info on what stores are closing, what the plans are as it relates to real estate and what's the plan for layoffs and severance pay for Fry's employees.

I am not shocked at all if they close down. We have one near us and they encourage folks to be shady. I have had an employee try to slip a service plan in on me. I now just shop at Amazon or Best Buy. Never had an issue not be resolved with either retailer. Even though they have great deals, a $100 of a large item is not worth the risk in case something goes wrong. In today's world low costs is not everything.
Sorry to employees. I used to shop fry's constantly but once I got PC and accessories I wanted I realized staying away was best to avoid collecting junk I didn't need! Much happier with just simple $100 PC and wall mounted 30" LCD near bed (to get equvalent appearing size on opposite wall would require 50+ in, so saved tons and left possible upgrade much much easier by NOT PAYING $1000's!!
If I want bigger later I have 1080p projector but it uses $300 high intensity (HOT) lamp that replaces for $300 and is easily burnt out (replaced 2 in beginning and luckily got free replacement, but after a few months that is not an option!). Option would be to sell it and buy a new inexpensive LED projector.
Might look into that!
you sir are an inconciderate jerk. If you found an item you already want, what reason do you have not to take 1 min to let someone get credit. Regardless if they didn't help you. But when they do try to help you according to your comment employees are "hounding You". It would be better if you never went to a retail store again and stayed behind your cheap computer to shop.
Good. While the store looks fun to go into I hated actually being in there to get hounded at every turn my the ding dong employees. Hated even more when I already picked a item to buy on my own and a employee thinks they are sly and try to ring up my item for the front register just so they can get free commission.
The one in fountain valley is closing within the next few months. I heard from a confidential inside source that the fountain valley store is going to he the home of Floor and decor, a hardwood floor giant within a year or two. Frys has not been able to compete with online retailers and will end up like circuit city and doing online warehouse like amazon. Much like tiger direct it will consist of just a network like newegg. Layoffs are sure to happen.
