Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Free iPhones coming to iCDG employees in Feb

So it is happening after all, as had been long-rumored: Selected iCDG employees will get a free iPhone 7 (not 7 Plus, sadly). One of my pals is working on setting up the ordering system where people can register their color choice. Should be ready in a couple of weeks and delivery will be before end of Feb.

The one funny part: It's all going to be hyper-confidential (you will have to digitally sign a separate NDA while ordering), because not everyone gets one. Most specifically, all of India will be left out of the deal, supposedly because management felt that the balance between the value of an iPhone and the average salary of an Indian employee is too far out of whack. Apparently, management in India is already whining to Aicha about it.

So anyway, enjoy your new phone if you are one of the lucky ones on "the list".

- Apple had already stated they will move back to single sourcing from QCOM within the next 1-2 years if Intel cannot keep up.

1tml - can you post a link with more acceptable testing insights?

Can we ask for the Qualcomm version?

Funny how people ieep, going on about paid Intel shills, but it's apparently ok to post that nonsense article with fake test results from paid Qualcomm shills. Nobody with even the slightest bit of knowledge in the cellular domain takes that Cellularinsights BS seriously.

Two good articles for reminders of the differences between Intel and QCOM modems. The second link was mentioned on earlier threads.

- Right, the crappy Intel modem. That is just dead cat bounce, Apple will probably drop them for the next iPhone as they cannot get competitive with QCOM. You probably don't remember, but the big miss was 10 years ago, when Intel refused to be the provider for the iPhone apps processor out of arrogance. That was the real deal.

How did Intel "miss" the iPhone? I think you are not up to date on more recent tech news.

by | Post ID:

Typical BK financial mismanagement of discretionary spending. Let's spend time and $ getting toys for ourselves after firing our co-workers... oh and probably firing more again soon. But it's safe to order the toys now when things have died down. What's ironic is that it's iPhones - the very product that Intel missed and will likely end up being the death of the company. Irony.

Does "selected employees" mean the ones that swallow? Also, I would be more concerned about having a job and not getting laid off versus being excited about an IPhone.
