Just to give a little more feedback about Pebble, yes I heard about the CEO making fake profiles hating the reality of the crappy company that Sears is because no one would s--- up to it so people would speak their mind and he would get on you. Also the funny thing is when I started working at Sears I remember they pushed me to use Pebble I used it very little was horrible unfriendly user interface and if you want help you don't get help. They gave you vague answers to suppose ably helping you out. The funniest thing with me is I have not used Pebble in almost 2 years I find it useless you don't get helpful advice if you need it. Its a pathetic resource to use honestly..
Since you asked, Pebble is the internal SHC Facebook. It's set up almost the same but I can only access it at work. People post questions about finding UPC numbers & such which I assume helps employees do their job.
Pebble is also a strong corporate mouthpiece. For example any non-glowing reaction to this dumb new points program has post after post defending it & explaining how Beneficial to the employees it is. All posted by home office folk.
Eddie Lampert was caught on there, using a fake name, arguing with associates but that was awhile ago.
Had to do my shopping this week. Usually I would shop at Kmart or Sears but with this new policy I shopped the competition. I spent over $500 on a few items like clothes, outdoor stuff, a few tools, and some groceries. Normally, I would have bought them at Sears/Kmart but not now. This time I bought them from Amazon. Free shipping, no hassle about signing up for something, no long lines as slow registers and to top it off even without my employee discount or SYW points I saved $27.56. No competition. No brainer of where I will shop. Sorry SHC you lost $500 to go along with the billiions you have already lost
But as corporate has said they want us to have the same experience as the customer to better relay the advantages of SYW. I wish someone would post that quote that they have on Pebble. If they want us to have the same experience then we will get no service (not enough workers), no customer service (not enough workers), hassle with refunds which can take up to 3 months (not enough workers and they want to hold the money as long as they can), no service on service plans (not enough workers and not paying the third party that runs this warrenty program), online sales that are a hassle (not enough workers to pull the merchandise and then when they do no boxes, tape, money to ship the items or the items are out of stock because vendors are not shipping), Not getting things on time (once again, not enough workers to pull and ship items, no enough money to buy boxes or shipping), prices more than Wal-Mart, Target, JCP, and others (looking to get as much cash flow as possible to keep this thing going another day). Just the type of experience I would want, but yeah, Lets let the customer see exactly how this puppy is run and how much SHC really cares about the customer. Lets let them see that all we care about is a SYW reward sign up or now a Sears 5321 credit card. Because like the customer the employees are just a number and a way to sell information to make a buck. They care not about you and the sooner you get a clue the better.
Yes once again Sears comes and screws anally their own workers. I work for Sears and can't wait till I am gone waiting on a call to go to the academy, but pisses me off that that instead of valuing their workers they just figure out a way to f--- you over. Everyone needs fight the system and retaliate dont buy sh-- unless you have to! Spend your money in another store and make a point of this spread the word don't buy Sears/Kmart sh-- unless you have to we can hurt them by not buying if you buy just because your basically supporting their stupid cause.

Hey, don't ALL customers earn SYWR points? So do we earn the same as anyone who walks in the door?
I just don't know why everyone is complaining on Pebble, like corporate will listen or even care. One guy on there apologized for slamming SHC for this. He must have been told to either apologize or get fired. If you are going to have a corporate social media site then you can't expect everyone to tow the line. Associate discount is gone now all our jobs will be gone soon

The only reason I shop at Sears is that my associate discount makes Sears prices the same as or slightly less than the prices at other stores. Since the other stores offer a better selection of merchandise and a more pleasant shopping experience I will be saying adios to shopping at Sears. I always considered the SYWR program a farce. The only reason I joined the program is that I didn't want my purchases to adversely impact the metrics of my fellow associates. Although I must admit, I did take advantage of the unrestricted surprise points the few times they showed up.

I work at HQ and rarely use Pebble... people just post only politically correct comments... no one dares post what they really think since we heard Eddie and his minions monitor Pebble. My daughter works at JCP and she gets better discounts- cash and they don't use the points BS. All I can tell you is I don't like it. They also recently demoted a bunch of IT people at HQ into a lower job grade but then our VP said 'it's good for the employee' ... the same rubbish as those saying this employee discount giving points is a good idea. Then our department hires another director making big bucks.... I just wonder what kind of director would take a job at Sears knowing what's going on....
Wal-mart, Target, Costco, Amazon, Home Depot, Lowes, CVS, Sams Club, BJ's, J.C. Penny, Macy's, or any other retailer we can shop at is the answer to no more discount
Now that means I can shop at lowes and home depot for all my needs.
They ran off customers, now they're running off associates. Hahaha

It's pathetic they would even try to present this as beneficial to employees. Let's say I were to buy a $100 hardline item under the old program. So I'm out $90. Then I buy another for $90 next month. So I'm out $180. The same two transactions now would cost me $185 right? Am I missing something? This is just a benefit cut to save a trivial amount of money for the company.
Did you really buy all that much stuff from the store that you will miss the discount? Most employees buy only clearnace stuff anyway.
It's like the old company stores in the mining towns. They want you to spend every penny you make in the company store so they make even more money off of you. All the company wants is to say how successful their SYW rewards program is. Since they don't have customers to bring the numbers up then they will use, yes, you are being used, the employees to inflate the numbers.
Pebble is the best to read right now as every one is praising this decision like the company just gave some kind of bonus or a raise. How can those people live with themselves.
Next they will say we are going to pay you in SYW points.
Since all the stores are going to be closing soon, just start planning to make your own discounts. Carefully search every area of the store, all nooks and crannies in the stockrooms, layaway, etc. And look at how much room there is under the base counters and in the boxes for the air conditioning filters in your loft. You can stash a lot of good stuff in there and then buy it on the last day when the liquidation is at 90% off. You have heard the saying turn lemons into lemonade, we'll start preparing to squeeze every drop you can. LOL. And I actually speak from experience as our store closed last year, and I can't even begin to list the stuff that we all had hidden.

They are not going to cut costs by taking away the associate discount. Everyone I know will find things to burn their points with before they expire. If they have $5 in surprise points (or regular points) they will spend it before it expires, and sears loses money.
So in exchange for losing associate discount we are REWARDED... with if we pay full price for an item will will get the privilege of buying another item to be allowed to use the points if it's eligible: wow. Just when you think Eddie has nothing more to sell or cut, bam he finds something new to cut. I think next he should sell the roofs off the buildings and have associates work under tarps...
Well my store is in the process of closing down, and who cares about SYWR, I want my discount. I will no long buy anything from Sears, except when the prices go down. Keep your head up Sears and Kmart employees. Wish you guys the best.
Plus with a discount already there from the liquidation sales the points will allow everyone to get even more garbage that no one wants!!!!
Well folks, look on the bright side. Even though Eddie has eliminated our associate discount, we still hold the honor of being Members in his outstanding organization! I am sure that Eddie would be quick to point out that, "Membership has its privileges!" Now quit complaining and start using those extra points before they expire in 60 days.
This switch certainly makes things easier when a lot of people are laid off from an organization
The brown nosers are terrifying. They are the same people that would close the doors on the trains heading to the concentration camps. This decision is clearly bad for employees, yet in their droves the minions heap praise, no self respect.

they are like robots the 'higher-ups' responding to pebble concerns, this ignorance is why Sears is about to file bankruptcy
This particular benefit was one of the last employee incentives. Sugar coated with that extra 5%. Most employees use that discount to take money OFF of a purchase so that they will not have to pay as much. Reality is that the majority of my associates do live pay check to paycheck, and anyone in their right mind knows that because Kmart pay pennies.
Soon enough we all will not need them anyhow....

I'd be more concerned with finding another job then spending money to get 15% - 20% discounts to acquire points that expire after I may not have a job

It's BS. They basically just did away with the discount and will make it look like they are making a bigger profit off inventory since it won't actually be discounted on the price and will increase metrics in SYW. So when they announce quarterly results they can use this lol.
i despise the gutless folk on pebble saying how great this is just to look good. the business speak from LMujal is getting sickening. associate discount is being removed to save money and being replaced with a gimmick, simple.
It's effective January 29
20 % in points for soft lines. 15% back in points for hardlines ( they are very proud that this an increase from 10% we enjoyed). But we already accumulate points in addition to our discount. Can't confirm the expiration time line. Was not in email.
