Almost 20 yrs, In that time I had to dumb myself down to all of the leaders that were full of themselves. Incompetent is probably not a strong enough word. Treat the customers like idiots, it's ok to be shady, because they will never be leaving with just the phone they came in for. No they are leaving with a bunch of s/ they will never use. In addition there next bill being jacked up. This is why people are leaving. The majority of newer reps can be constantly late and goof off and it's an act of congress to can them. Customers know what's up. Also, the Einsteins in corporate keeping the training department really? Retail Business Reps for the store? Floating Managers? Pointless conference calls? Behaviorial commitments? What A.(holes come up with this? It's all upper managements fault, not the soldiers in the field. Basically when a customer comes in the store they are ignored or body slammed. Verizons claim to fame is to follow the others not to innovate and dominate with failure with borrowed ideas. Honestly internet and indirect is Verizons future.

If you are really interested in "turning the company around" as you claim, then you should be willing to hear some honest feedback from the rank and file in a forum that allows them to freely express it without fear of repercussion.
Perhaps this "complaining" that you object to points out areas that require improvement or a new approach. Maybe it is worthwhile to ask why so many employees are unhappy instead of blaming and attempting to silence them.
You sound extremely bitter and should move onto a job that makes you happy. All that bitterness can lead to severe illness and you do not sound mentally happy. Do yourself a favor and move on. You are apparently not use to change nor cannot handle change. Instead of dumbing yourself down as you put it, maybe you could have provided changes by example. You are no better than those that you claim are horrible.
I do not understand the mindset of subjecting yourself to unhappiness. I suggest you speak to your management and volunteer yourself as someone who would like to be on the next rif list. We all have a level of integrity that draws the line at a point that we should not continue.
Coming on here and bashing the company does not help those of us who are attempting to help turn this company back around. You either are a solution or a problem to the goal. Right now you are sounding very much like a problem. You want it to be a better place then provide positive solutions, stop complaining as complaining does absolutely nothing. This goes for anyone and for anything, whether at Verizon or any other problem in your life. Life is too short to be so unhappy.
Oh, also at GM's managers meetings, they are discussing with HR and all Zone managers who they think the jerk offs are in their stores. So you can literally be a warrior and if your GM either feels insecure or simply does not like you they black flag you. Meanwhile, most GM's are in their stores maybe 2 to 3 days tops. Never close, or open. Leave early and are jockeying to see who they can f:;k with.
