Last person I know of to be laid off got 2 weeks severance.

All depends on what option you accept at time of dismissal (or soon there after), which is offered based on years of service. If you do sign their agreement then you have no recourse for court action later.
Seen some real a---kissers keep their jobs and in reality those people don't make much of a valid contribution to the company. Seen others come and go as the please throughout the day ie come in late, leave early etc and they are still employed.
There's no sense to it really. Just depends on who's pocket your nestled into.
