Downsizing HR was a stupid move by Wells Fargo management

Downsizing HR department effects the team members directly. New system wait times to talk to HR Representative 30 plus minutes. Yet we are told on a daily basis that we are the most valuable asset to the Bank. Senior Management quit blowing smoke and leave already. Your presence is running this Bank to the ground. You all are centralizing all departments which should have been completed years and now you think you are the heros. All of you are incompetent. A experienced senior banker knows that a Bank needs to be centralized to properly monitor and eliminate risks. That is Banking 101. Where did all these irresponsible ideas come from? Obviously; you all still don’t get it. You all are not the hero’s you’re the destroyers. Again another dumb idea downsizing HR. Sensentive issues involving payroll; leaves of absences; employee retaliations and no one is there to answer the calls. Another lawsuit just waiting to happen.

I think you contact an attorney. If you request leave it is not your responsibility to find someone to cover your position. Also the treatment you received after you returned to work is not acceptable. Call an attorney.

I am so very sorry you had to go through that. Your doctor should have given you all the tools you need to be gone from work too. Liberty Mutual may have given you only 4 at the beginning but moving forward, they would have given you more had your doctor deemed you needed more. And then there is Intermittent Leave, surely you qualified for that too. I think your doctor sadly let you down and so did your manager for hot helping you in your time of need. Prayers for you and I hope all is well now.

What HR? The HR 800# goes no where or you get into many sub queues that ship you off to somewhere else. Usually, a 3rd party outsourced reject center. Missed PTO, incorrect OT or leave time-off...all must be taken on the chin.

The employee manual says to contact manger who tells you to contact HR. I was diagnosed with advance stage cancer. I told manger who said there wasn't anything she could do and instructed me to contact HR. I said that I will be out for operation and radiation treatment to start and can't find anyone to answer in HR. She said that wasn't her concern, but if I was to be out, I need to find coverage for work. Well, I went right to insurer (Liberty) and thought all was ready for leave. Oh no, the employee guide said my years of service gives me 7 weeks off, but I only received 4.

Oh well, right? So I come into work getting my coverage ready before I leave for operation. My manger approaches me and says that if I don't leave, she will escort me out. WHAT? WHAT? With tears in my eyes I leave building. I found out later that she had wrong date for my leave of absence. I called all over to get someone in HR and finally called Liberty and they sent her an email. I got back into building. My manager received premiere performer that year and was given all expense paid trip to somewhere. Go figure, right?

Not to make a sob story...I can take a lot. I came back to work wearing diaper, which I had to change very frequently. I managed with all the embarrassing mishaps. Many changes of clothes and such. I scheduled all my radiation treatments for last slot at clinic - 4:30pm. My manager would not let me leave and just go home after treatment, but I came back to work desperately tired, just to answer email box for department.

Well, time goes on and cancer spreads, and I'm having bathroom issues. Apparently, I am spending too much time leaving desk for bathroom breaks. So, was delivered nasty notice et al.

I couldn't take it anymore and quit. There goes healthcare coverage and wasted money paying for Long Term Care and Disability coverages that never got to be used.

I cannot believe that someone with an once of reputation doesn't even try to save the Wells brand.

Hey, they're making a lot of money, so I must be the dummy.

$4 BILLION in savings doesn't come easily when they are spending hundreds of millions in legal fees and reparations to customers harmed in the multiple scandals. The reputation damage means new accounts are not being opened, and interest rates remain low. Only way to keep shareholders happy is to shed employees, up to a certain level. Once they are at a certain point on the ladder, they all protect each other and their million-dollar salaries and bonuses. PACA my left foot!

When employees are not doing work, stealing, and harassing other employess there is no HR to attack and smear the victims anymore, so the perpetrators can continue doing their thang.

Agree with you 100% - I was one of the affected folks and this should have been handled differently. Water under the bridge now. Good luck all.
