Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

The 70 Rule

We continue to cut here -10% by November. I hear each department is being asked to cut 10% of expenses. I'm also hearing the 70 rule. Add your age to your years of service. The closer it gets to 70 the more likely it is you will get caught up in downloadbesttorrentblog.ru.

To the poster above referencing a huge 1991 layoff - I don't recall that. I was there in the FLHQ. I was part of the 2005 layoff affecting 3,000 people. I had 30 years of service at that time. They told people to be available in their office and we had appointments during the day. I had the meeting, given my package, sent to a conference room to do something but can't remember as I was in a fog. Some people were sitting there almost crying and in shock. I had a sizeable pension but they gave me a reduced amount and made me take 50% as a lump sum which was taxed at the highest rate. Devastating.

PepsiCo people tend to close ranks and once you are out it feels like no one will talk to you.

There was a larger layoff a few years later affecting almost 9,000 people. It is a very tough thing but you will survive. Network like crazy. Build your linkedin. Everyone should have a current resume. List out your accomplishments. Give yourself a pat on the back for all that you do. Be positive. Do your best each and every day. PepsiCo is very good on a resume.

oh well, it's out of your control, but it's a great reason to do nothing between now and then, and even after that if you survive downloadbesttorrentblog.rus. So call in sick a lot, use vacation days, come in late, shop on line all day like some directors I know, spend two hours in the gym, get a massage, take a walk on all the trails, take long lunches, and leave early to play golf like some directors I know etc etc. There are lots of way to kill a day in Plano.

Was just told that layoffs will occur in large numbers just before Thanksgiving. You have to love that. Hit everyone right before the holidays.

Leadership within Pepsico has definitely been lacking. You only need to look at our CEO who believes she is somehow better than everyone else. The reality is, her focus on creating a lean company is the right thing to do. However, Indra has failed to recognize the growth component of our business. She's simply trying to hit a number each quarter. The manner in which the numbers are achieved are now unsustainable unless we return to growing the business first. Time for a new CEO.

Directors at Frito-Lay HQ they are worthless individuals, protecting there own interests, so clueless and dishonest, it is good time let them go, very dishonest, no one trusts those so-called leaders

After the restructure of operations 2 year ago in the field and headquarters Frito-Lay lost millions of $in productivity, as well as conversion. Frito-Lay lay managers, are out of touch and not held accountable for the losses. Frito-Lay is in free fall. Perfect time for lay offs. Those managers, vps and directors need to go....

Maybe she'll write one of her stupid condescending " Letters from Indra" from her ivory tower with some more of her nonsensical babble explaining why she has to do this to her beloved pepsico "family". She's a clown.

It's all about greed. Indra Nooyi's compensation was $29.8 million in 2016 up from $26.4 million in 2015 (13% increase). You can bet these moves are geared to put more money into the pockets of the already rich while they hold the rest of us down. Sad sad day!!!

I hear it's going to be like the 1991 "massacre" when half the building in Plano was cut

by | Post ID:

Anyone hear anything on timing? Still November? Frito and Beverages?

by | Post ID:

Sharp decrease in the number of jobs posted on the internal job site. Stock price has been in free fall and subtle restructuring is taking place to prepare for the eventual layoff. All the signs are there folks. And I hear that no one is safe. All levels are considered due to ask of each department to cut back by at least 10%.

by | Post ID:

this is very true

by | Post ID:

With all the rumors they might as well write-off Q4 before it even starts, everyone is going to slow down and do nothing. You can feel the apathy everywhere in the building.

This is long overdue. The vast majority of managers at Pepsi hired people merely so that they could justify their own jobs. What the higher levels of management did is still a mystery. One revelation for certain is that management existed merely to call meetings, which hobbled the efforts of anyone trying to do any real work. An otherwise productive day would be choked with meaningless meetings, all of which turned out to have all the serious impact of asking "Well, Bobby, what did you do in school today?" Occasionally it was entertaining to watch managers ask their employees what they were working on, both because they were so out of touch and because they needed to tell their higher-ups what they were "inspiring" their people to do. At Pepsi, people became managers and directors because they had no other skill or ability but to waddle the hallways and try to look important.

I heard that they are targeting the excess layers of management in Plano, anyone above a L10.
