Is it possible that COP will consider spinning off its L48 operations into a separate company like BP? A lot of bigger companies are thinking about such an option.

Is it possible that cop will consider separating us from you.
Only L48 would have demonstrated positive cash flow. I think COP should sell L48 BU to other aggressive companies and concentrate on Alaska and North Sea with loads of cash to buyback all the stocks.
Uncle Ryan will beat his chest and talk how well the company is doing. Asset sales and a hurricane saved the dead wood.
Is it possible that COP has the slightest concept of what it's doing as a company?
Pretty sure they're currently watching the recent rise in commodity prices with a tingle going down their legs, so very hopeful they won't have to make any actual decisions anytime soon. It's not like they've engaged in such activity prior to now...
My prediction: war in the middle east soon, oil prices skyrocket, and magically all of the deadwood, slackers & bureaucrats who should have been in the unemployment lines ECO/pre-Harvey (you know who you are, CC) will still be on the payroll by this time next year. Upper management bonuses increase exponentially & the korporate jet fleet increases two-fold.
But you mere mortals didn't meet (utterly arbitrary) VCIP goals, so your bonus will be summarily swept into our coffers instead. kinda funny how that works, eh?
it's not like Uncle Ryan & Co have demonstrated the ability to make crucial/relevant/timely decisions prior to Nov 2017...so why would they start doing so now?!
preach on the anal(ists) meeting tomorrow morning, Uncle Ryan...we'll be listening...
