Thread regarding Staples Inc. layoffs

15 or more years

If you are a long term employee, look out! They are going to show you the door. At a corporate meeting recently, a question was asked oh the Audience.... “how many people have worked for the company 15 or more years”? With a big response from the room with a raise of hands, the reaction by the speaker was..... “see, that is what the problem is”! God, I hate this company!

Definition of "Jaded" (dictionary)

"no longer enthusiastic or excited about things, especially because you have been disappointed by your many experiences of them"

That about sums up the Staples experience.

Cracking me up! So true! God I love when responses to the pro staples / sycamore post end up burying them. LOL!

If you think all these posts are untrue and too negative, then why do you keep coming here and reading them, and commenting?

There’s nothing wrong with people being disappointed at Staples and giving their opinions. Whether it’s truth or rumors, it’s hard to tell but most likely the majority is fact. Negative rumors come from toxic environments in companies who keep dark secrets, and all anyone can do is speculate what the next big failure will be. All you need to do is look at the failures of the past decade to understand why we are here. It’s a shrinking company and many, many people have been treated unfairly because of this. If you are happy working for Staples, that’s a great thing for you. But don’t deny that Staples has been completely unsuccessful for a long time and unsuccessful companies have poor leadership and poor leadership treats their employees poorly.

People can be scarred for a long time after experiencing targeting and negative treatment by an employer but everyone moves on, and discussing their disappointment is a good way to eventually get past it. Plus these discussions help unmask a lot of what this company tries to hide. Please keep the comments rolling!

It is interesting how Staples Management is paying attention to this board. I think the points about how fuc$ed up this company is and are right to the point.

I say to all the "negative" comments.... go back to your cube at Staples and look at the clock. Your time is also just ticking away until you are shown the door.

HR isn't the enemy just the executioner for management. And management would can HR if they could outsource that cheaper. Just wait....

And I do work here for now. I was hoping to make Staples work as I have been here for more than a decade, but this is not the company it once was.

I agree with the post below 100%.

All posts are so negative lately! If you don't like working at Staples....than leave. All of these former co-workers commenting crack me up - you don't work here anymore. Go start rumors at your new job board.

Most of you are all so darn negative and jaded. Coming to an open form and throwing around barbs and fictional BS from meetings and taking things completely out of context. Get yourselves some help.

HR is not your enemy, and if you believe they are then you really need to educate yourself or spend some time understanding what the function and responsibilities are. Stop spreading hate and unfounded rumours.

So many people try to point fingers at others for their own underperformance or lack of personal accountability - it’s unfortunately the way of the world now - the “not my fault” generation is here..... it’s really a shame.

Who asked that question in the meeting?

Post ID: No "lies".........simple truth

by | Post ID:

Funny that anyone raised their hands. It's not what is seen out in the field. Meetings are noted by most older employees for the fact that they see NO ONE THEY KNOW cause they are ALL long gone. That's they real truth and it's a trend that will continue. So the TONE of the OP is correct if not the actual report.

Remember HR is NOT your friend, they are your enemy. They work only to find a way to get you gone at a lower cost to the company.

If it was anything like the many meetings I've been in of late it ended with a round of applause for the long tenured associates. I will never understand what motivates people to come to this board and flat out lie.

Exactly how did it go then?

by | Post ID:

That is not how that session went. At all.
