Thread regarding CVS layoffs

How did CVS decide on district leaders and how districts are split?

Finally found out! But the way districts are re-aligned makes no sense, at least on the surface. Anyone know how they decided?

Also, a lot of supervisors are looking/applying for positions! How did they decide who do the leader positions.

Will they also be down sizing Store Managers in 2018?

They hired a consulting firm and basically gave everyone a point value from DM, Rx sups and up. Key factors were how long ones been with the company and performance specifically favoring those who are pharmacists and have been with the company a long time with a proven track record if you were not a pharmacist. Last day for those being let go will be the 30th and after that they can apply for other jobs either at corporate and or drop back down to store level positions. Many will have to look at what they have vested in the company. All of these individuals at this level are given stock options and will have to see if it is the right move to leave the company or wait until the stock is vested to pull out.

It was a very thorough interview process. The ones with the biggest Hooters win out.

Most of the stores in my district are states away - literally 4 states in one district. I’m the only store from my state and I’m not a border city to any state. It’s over 2 hours to get to any border.

Heard it had to do with leveling the playing field as far as store size, ie high volume, low volume. This way a district doesn't have too many of either. But from the looks of it, someone got their toddler drunk and gave them a crayon and a map and said "draw circles". Any money they saved on getting rid of two district leaders is now going to be spent on mileage and plane tickets for district leaders to visit their stores. (Some stores being 8 hrs away) Honestly, anyone who isn't a cashier or tech should be looking for another job as they are showing they can and will get rid of any position they want and the person in it, no matter how many years they've been with the company or how loyal they are.
