Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Hey Glenn where's our $1,000 employee checks?

So us employees withstood barrage of emails asking for us to support the Tax Reform bill in our work email, and I did.

Comcast, AT&T, Sinclair : all giving their employees $1000 checks for their support

our checks In the mail? We don't all own stock as part of our Allstate compensation that's goes up when you layoff employees FYI, every little bit helps.

Merry Christmas!

Wow. The most rambling, incoherent spewing of indecipherable venom yet. I take it back. Don’t have a beer, but get back on your med’s, and for God’s sake, find a job.

by | Post ID:

I believe the Kool Aid Drinkers remain here to focus their attention at the disenchanted to bolster their own sense of insecurity. FACT. You see I said FACT in bold letters so you know I must be authoritative and of course correct. Wow, did not know those participation medals you got had actually been for having talent and ability. You will be fine as you are a self righteous, admonition drone still living in mom's basement . FACT. I am glad you live in a world where all corporate decisions ever made are beyond reproach. FACT they very well be in this case and they may not be. We can talk move over some ZIMA at the Ultimate Frisbee game in Texas after the Kickoff or rather Kickout meeting.

AHAHAHAH AWESOME!!! The "FACT" managers who lurk here because they aren't confident on feedback in their units this sums it up! Go have a beer? WHY ARE THERE MANAGERS (if they really are) on board about LAYOFFS? dont say go have a beer because you are a drinker just dont be a pathetic company s--- up who has never had to work in marketplace but has worked for ONE company for 20 years. Your time is coming and again, goto your employees you are sad excuses for managers if you truly are on this board, vs going to actual channels this is a board for people who do the work that drive the company and pay for your jobs.

And in b4 get another job your bitter whatever, former state farm employee here and they have done same. No this Allstaters you will ALL be regionalized in 2-5 years and no one is sharing the strategic plan (as a retired exec said in another post) because of people jump ship home values whatever.

Go ahead idiot kool aid drinkers ahahahahahahahaha. so funny how stupid allstate management thinks their value generating employees are.

go have a case of beer and some anti heart disease or chemo

by | Post ID:

This is OP. $1000 check announced thank you Allstate mgt (2k I think if you don't have medical). So to be fair I acknowledge there was a response whether it had anything to do with this board I don't know but I am thankful for sharing tax reform benefits.

It’s difficult to follow these rambling, incoherent posts, but I’ll try. I consider my job, a job, just that. Not a gift, not personal, strictly business. I never believed the company “cared”for me (remember, this is business, not your mother or girlfriend). I’ve always expected to be compensated and rewarded for my hard work, and that’s usually happened.

I have no illusions that the company (processes or structure) is going to look like this in 5 years. I suspect we’ll need fewer employees (technology, data and artificial intelligence), and there will be a large consolidation of bricks and mortar. (I also believe there will be significantly more virtual roles)

The difference between you and me, is I know it’s a business, and have never been naive enough to think the company “cared” for me personally. I can either find a new role within the company, or relocate. I’ve already done both, more than once. It’s a COMPANY, and it serves its shareholders.

Get over it, you child.

by | Post ID:

I can't believe the idiocy on thud board for Allstate Christ figures who want to die for a job and haters who think employment is a gift, I can't believe either of you idiots are work peers BUT it does tell me Allstate sad.

by | Post ID:

You dumb f kool aid drinkers ... Wait 5 years then come back and talk about how Allstate "cares" for u and If u dare to think critically you are negative. Regional offices in 5 years idiots. ROFLMAO at ignorance

by | Post ID:

You should go work there. Git that cash.

by | Post ID:

Usaa 1000 bonus on top of 16.2% bonus this year. Sure hope our manager’s bonus well this year.

by | Post ID:

You are correct, you were not good enough for the Math Team SAT Scholar and all. You were the guy whose mom made him wear the helmet to the Chess Club meetings. Who even cares about the SAT's anymore and bragging about is not helping your insecurity case. I bet you don't even work for the company but are some 14 year old trolling for "cheap entertainment." Either scenario, I am sure you are still living in mom's basement with your helmet and participation medals.

by | Post ID:

No math team for me. I did have high GPA and SAT’s, but wasn’t in your geek group. Loving my job and the people I work with.

by | Post ID:

Then you really have no life....Wait I will fill in your response for you. I do just fine having ability and talent having went to a better school then you. I will agree the Math Team was never the same when you graduated early with a 3.95 GPA.

by | Post ID:

Cheap entertainment.

by | Post ID:

The fact that you troll on a site devoted to layoffs says otherwise

by | Post ID:

Can’t be insecure about my job. Sorry.

by | Post ID:

Methinks thou dost protest too much ......

by | Post ID:

.......but, not threatened, and certainly not insecure. I’ll be ok.

by | Post ID:

I’m ok with you being amused by me.

by | Post ID:

Agree with the previous poster. It’s not disloyal to keep your resume fresh and know your value in the marketplace. Nothing wrong with looking around (interviewing) and doing what’s best for your family. That way, if your work is no longer needed, you know your options.

by | Post ID:

I’m not sure who I am more amused by, the guy who can’t put words together in a coherent sentence or the one who is so threatened and insecure that he has to constantly refer to the fact that he went to a better school than you.

by | Post ID:

I’m trying to follow your rambling incoherent diatribe, but it’s difficult. I haven’t been here since the 70’s ( do the math dummy), but have been here since early 80’s, and do have multiple degrees from places you and your community college brain couldn’t get within sniffing distance of.

As far as “indenture” ( 3 syllable word for you.....impressive); I’ve interviewed externally several times.....just never found a better deal. What does that tell you ?

by | Post ID:

The s--- ups are a disgrace. Employment is a contract not indenture idiots. FCA just announced $2k checks to workers, Fall on sword bleed blue and white work ethic is great, pathetic indenture is sad. Loser apologists infect this board and their response is "your crazy". I'm sorry you didn't get any degree or credentials and worked for allsnake since the 70s but rise in stock has more to do with our president then Mr Shapiro who destroyed Liberty mutual commercial block then parachuted over to Allsnake. S--- it up buttercup

by | Post ID:

Agree..... have 30+ years with the company, been through a lot of big changes, and this summer was the only large scale layoff I’m aware of in claims in those 30 years. That’s not to say there might not be more in the future, but there’s not a track record of it.

by | Post ID:

Imbecile. Yes, all 16,000 of us will be gone. Imbecile.

by | Post ID:

You have no idea.

by | Post ID:

With all your fine credentials and you ended up here? No one else wanted you, you are not fooling anyone. Was unaware they even offered post grad degrees in hackie sack. If you actually have "many" years with the company, batter up, cause your next out the door. Unless your job is the guy hitting the launch button, then you will be around awhile longer.

by | Post ID:

Many years with the company, no doubt longer than you. Undergraduate degree from a more prestigious institution than you, if you went, wth a post graduate degree. And I won’t be going anywhere, trust me.

by | Post ID:

Nice post Glenn you DO read this board. "Fall on your sword" for a corporation? this has to be trolling or someone who has perfect mindset for WWII German military. Dear lord its a job but you sound like you want to be a superhero rofl.

by | Post ID:

Guess its your first job out of school with your Liberal Arts Certificate? Don't worry, your finely honed wit and cutting retorts will serve you well when you are cast to the wind shortly. Don't you have a CI huddle to attend? Black Nikies and sweat suits optional.

by | Post ID:

How did you ever function in the workplace ?

by | Post ID:

Just proved my point. Put the Fender clone down its annoying mom up stairs.

by | Post ID:

Drink much ?

I must have missed the fine print that limited this site to the bitter and disillusioned.

by | Post ID:

Very secure, thanks.

by | Post ID:

It looks like the happy employees are looking at this site and making comments. I would think that if you were so secure in your job why do you care and make comments??????? Seems like to me that you should be partying instead. I guess not so secure ?????

by | Post ID:

Do some of you genius’s realize that if or when the company is sued, the entire process by which they selected the laid off employees (EVERY document, list, data point) is discoverable by plaintiff counsel ?

Do you really believe they’d put themselves at financial risk to do what the genius below described (targeted highly paid employees) ? The stuff I see on this site amazes me, and the level of naïveté is alarming.

by | Post ID:

When you have talent and ability, you don’t have to rely on luck. I’ll be just fine, thanks.

by | Post ID:

As scooby doo would say rut row sounds like last 2 posts are still hanging on to allstate kool aid good luck on your future

by | Post ID:

Do you idiots really believe a Fortune 100 company would “target” highly paid employees, so they could “fill their pockets” (????!!!!?????). Do you have any clue how many lawyers, HR managers, compliance managers, etc. have to sign off on something like this ? So this was a conspiracy of hundreds of employees in claims to save a couple of bucks for a $30 billion dollar company ?

It makes me question our hiring process.

by | Post ID:

What you, and others failed to mention is location, or geography. Yes, they need fewer adjusters with most drivable cars moving from Drive In to QFC. If you now have 5 adjusters in a market where you need 3, first, you better be able to estimate non drivable cars. If not, you’re gone (newer employees). Next, performance rating (some tenured employees). Lower rated employees were next.

NO ONE had access to salary information. Fact.
