Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

The captain should go down with the ship

or in our case, the ship went down because of the captain - I now give up and will resign tomorrow - looking for a new job without having to look over my shoulder has to be better than this and I am worth more than what HP is doing to us all.

Hi Original Poster,

Well, GodSpeed to ya... You didn't take our advice... No unemployment bennies for you!

But... "Man does not live by bread alone". If your sanity and /or your self-respect was on the line... No amount of money or job security can compensate you for that!

I was miserable for a while at a past job, and my Truly Beloved and Offspring told me later on, just how bad things were, that I had been miserable beyond what I was later on recalling about it... To the point where I could no longer believe what they were telling me. God or karma or the Universe or something, at times, blesses us with forgetfulness of the details of the nastiness of the past, I suppose.

Well anyway, Godspeed to you, and I hope your bad memories of the Meggot-infested ways of HPE will soon pass away from you! Forget the pain, but do please recall the lessons learned... We are all collecting a golden harvest of lessons learned, I do believe...

I DID IT!

the adive was rock solid and sensible.. but i dont want to have to give this company any more than i have to - it was killing me and my family to see me so unhappy... and as i told my boss when i did it it felt good.. primo sh^t good .. and told me she was praying for WFR to take her away from the misery.

One door closes.. another one will open and "a flip of the bird" to the useless pr^^ks who took this company down.

I think when the ship is just about on its last legs, the captain will kick off the emergency self-destruct button. Her management will yell "Make a hole" so that managers and employees get out of her way as she makes her way to a Gulfstream jet ready to take her out of there. And just as she's about to get on the jet, she'll fake some tears, pull our her handkerchief and say "ta-ta". While the plane takes off leaving everyone holding the bag, she'll be laughing all the way to the bank. :)

"The captain should go down with the ship", OK, got that part...

But what should the cabin boy do? What kind of relationship (if any) is there between the Captain and the cabin boy? Should the cabin boy go down with the Captain? What would Senate candidate Roy Moore do?

Your question(what about Boise) does not belong in this thread.

If your intent is to hijack the conversation in this thread, the answer for your question is, Boise is total goner.

I am a bit perplexed by the comment "Use your entire lunch hour to search jobs off the corporate WiFi and don't feel a single bit bad about it."

What exactly do you mean? The Lunch hour belongs us. Where is the question of feeling bad about using it the way we see fit. I don't get it.

By the way, I like to chime in with everyone else. Do not resign before lining up another job. Just bite the bullet and stick around until then. Operate quietly on finding an alternate job, and keep your frustration and displeasure hidden from your manager and colleagues for now. This Management is ruthless and sly. You got to play their own game when dealing with this company.

Do not resign. Do everything you can to secure a new position at a new company while you still have a job. As miserable as every day is at HPE, it's better than looking for work while unemployed. Use your entire lunch hour to search jobs off the corporate WiFi and don't feel a single bit bad about it.

HPE is such a miserable place with morally and ethically bankrupt management. Despite what they try to make you believe, the skies are so much sunnier outside of HPE.

Hopefully you can hit the jackpot of being WFRed immediately after accepting a job offer! Best of luck to you and everyone in your situation.

This is good advice...stick around and do a stealth job search.

Don't resign until you have found a new role elsewhere! You will not be eligible for unemployment if you resign (if that is something you'll need). Also, your negotiating power is better when you have a job! Your insurance benefits go away on your last day. Stick around and continue looking; you may offer up to your manager that you're willing to be on the next WFR list if you really want out soon.

Don't do it just yet! It is MUCH easier to find a new job when you already have a job! It avoids a LOT of questions!
