Can I get an order of fries with my $300 precalculus book? Thanks for nothing, RG.

(Sigh) It's still a dying business. TC wasn't a college book guy but he was a fast learner and he didn't set out to fire the old timers with the institutional knowledge and hire his buddies. From MLS on it was about the privately held stock value. The family didn't care what happened to the front line associates, they only cared about their $$$.

The same effect (stock value) could be had by clearing out the Ivory Tower of the high priced SVP's and VP's, and Directors and spending that savings on the customer facing store level associates. More bang for the buck. Bet the family wish they had back the money they wasted on the Ivory Tower.

Time will tell.

only 1yr running Sodexo college division. better..not great

by | Post ID:

How many is that now, though? And what does that say?

by | Post ID:

Let’s just hope the new guy believes that having a front line is more important than having an office of useless titles.

At least Sodexo has some sort of presence on and working with college campuses versus Ace Hardware?? It's still a shame they don't hire someone with practical experience in higher ed. They just look it as a product to be sold so the product is irrelevant. If you can sling this widget you can sling that widget just as easily.

It is comforting to know his replacement knows the food service business. Unfortunately, we are in the textbook business. Things are looking up!
