QCA is located in the bay area along with a hundred more high tech companies when it’s time for a change. Your compensation will be more in the bay area but not enough to match higher cost of living
I personally would wait until there is a conclusion to the Broadcom and NXP deals. Too much uncertainty however if you really need a job then go for it. It’s better than having no job at all.
I can't speak to QCA, only QCT, and I would not recommend it. The work environment s---s, you will get pigeonholed into one thing, learn nothing, work long hours, get blamed for things that are not your fault and not get credit for anything good you do. Raises are crap, promotions few, tools are buggy, and the competent people who could teach you well have either already left or they no longer give a darn.
Hard to imagine QCA could be worse.
NXP doesn't have WIFI chips.
If NXP acquisition ever gets done, expect NXP to take over everything but mobile. Heavy layoffs in no mobile areas and high cost areas like San Jose.
QCT more survivable if Broadcom takes over. Cellular chips have a higher ASP and barrier to entry than WiFi. I would go with QCT
Nepotism, ghetto culture in management is rampant all over Qualcomm attributed mostly to folks working there for 15-20+ years and qcom being the only company these low class unqualfied idiots have ever worked in their whole life.
Leadership is joke. Self-serving VPs looking to take advantage of the company at every turn. Their idea of leadership is "ruling" and misusing "power" deflect and blame hard working engineers for mishaps. These idiots are no leaders and are looking to jump ship and attack other big well reputed places like Amazon and goog where they can nestle in and spread their ghetto attitude.
GTFO. You must be cray cray!!! You're better off jobless.
Too much nepotism in QCA. If you speak the same language as your manager, or invite each other over to dinners, you'll flourish.
