The mere fact that we resort to an anonymous web site to vent our concerns is reason enough to go union.

really doesn't matter much anyways, because once Mr Hilber shows up at your depot, most of you turn into a bunch of scared little gullible puppies.

by | Post ID:

Such idiots.....you talk about rats in depots but here you are on a site (that everyone reads) and posts about organizing a union. You guys rat yourself out.

by | Post ID:

If every depot has rats why are you still here

by | Post ID:

how can we look to the future if all the depots are infested with RATS?

by | Post ID:

Agree with the last statement. By its not just him the only thing everyone talks about on here is the past and not what they're going to do for the future. You guys complain about the guys that went to charter, about trucks on the garden state, jabba just a copies and pastes news articles, complain about bonuses we don't get anymore, bicker back and forth with each other about literally anything. I'll agree it s---s what we've lost but it already happened, move past it. I said this on a different post but you guys can't even talk to each other with respect its really sad

by | Post ID:

The guy who is concerned with the guys driving on the garden state, what's your tech number you make me laugh. Your more worried about near misses than the big picture of every thread. Your definitely a Tech that whines about everything hense your need to point this out every few days. How many times have you applied for a job within the company only not to get it? You are so bitter.

by | Post ID:

For the whole company that voted no and ran of to charter vision as SCABS they will get there’s. They didn’t want to help themselves but quick to try and replace the guys actually fighting For job security and protection there family. I have no respect for any of them.

by | Post ID:

I remember Baxter from his days in back the Bronx. He used to be one of the good guys..... when did he flip??

by | Post ID:

Your right, the irony of techs wanting to organize here, crossing the lines of guys who had the balls to organize there. Rats, but we knew that when they were here. Maybe it’s just the culture around here. Look out for number one, do what ever it takes to get ahead. Screw every one else. I’m looking at you “trucks on the Garden State” guy. You are a rat, and a coward, and probably a crappy tech if you worry that much about guys that are actually working. Instead you sit in your van and pout you weren’t promoted, or trained, or even given a chance to touch the new stuff. Look in the mirror and ask “why”... the answer is, because Your you.

by | Post ID:

that's accurate

by | Post ID:

reg definition of a rat (Scab Laborer)......I guess everyone who left the company to cross a picket line is a RAT.

by | Post ID:

Here we go with the guy that strokes himself daily about the trucks on the garden state

by | Post ID:

"The other guy got a write up and kicked off a project while the other may have gotten a write up ... but still continues to be on the project !!! Hence this is a second safety violation for one of the 2 .. No names"

Is this the bonehead cruising the Garden State Parkway daily in a line truck? Someone tell him and his management its illegal.

by | Post ID:

RAT

  • a person who abandons or betrays his or her party or associates, especially in a time of trouble

  • an informer

  • a scab laborer

Class action lawsuits? For what exactly

There are 3 pending class action lawsuits against Altice

  • Field Service techs in Bronx

  • Field Service & OSP techs in Brooklyn

  • All field techs in Suffolk

All of them are alleging that the company failed to properly pay them for hours worked (specifically, including working through lunch break)

here's a link to the official court filings for each.

/>

To my knowledge, there was only one news article reporting on one of lawsuits. see here---> />

by | Post ID:

If techs can come together and file multiple class action lawsuits against Altice, then they certainly should be able to unionize.

by | Post ID:

I guess Baxter kissed the ring.

by | Post ID:

He’ll no baxter didn’t get in trouble. But it’s ho you know not what you know got away with marder.jeff stiger covered for him.

by | Post ID:

"To step up and put yourself out there for a union only gets you hung out to dry. Just ask the Bronx guys... The company will pick us one at a time if we don’t watch our backs."

I disagree.

Stop making excuses of what Altice may do to you if you publicly show that you support union. We're past all that BS.

It's our right to support union.

If techs remain scared then you'll never go union.

Where are your leaders? How about you step up and lead the troops?

Whatever you do, do it as one unit.

Barely any local management left to start messing with techs.

The only thing that should concern you is being forced to sit in a meeting with that lying Paul Hilbìtch.

Fat Barry & Bumbling Bob is catching a serious hard-on reading this thread, so, stop talking and take action now.

by | Post ID:

did Baxter get in trouble for that bucket accident he caused?

by | Post ID:

SORRY I didn’t mean to RAT YOU OUT it’s just two sh-- tech getting away with things and Jeff stiger sets in his office drinking coke all day with Adam. He should go out there and do some SROS and NID that’s past due.

by | Post ID:

, ok, so do you have CWA contact info? Is there a way to sign cards online. Let’s all get on the same page with who we’re dealing with. We need to organize, to be able to organize. It’s time.

by | Post ID:

f ibew.....look what they did for charter...nothing. if anything go with CWA. we are a communication company not electricians.

by | Post ID:

We should have organized as soon as Cablevision sold, but people were still thinking management was still on there side and look at how it's gone down hill. We need to organize asap.

by | Post ID:

People are to stupid and scared to organize. People don't realize that management don't care about you and your complaints. Just go out and do your job until they cut you loose.

by | Post ID:

R69roBH-1oxn

Is exactly rite. To step up and put yourself out there for a union only gets you hung out to dry. Just ask the Bronx guys... The company will pick us one at a time if we don’t watch our backs. Find the INEW cards online, sign, and force a company wide vote. Remember, “I’m a friend of Adam” is the way we can assure each other of our intent.

Mad Dog is a sloppy c--t

by | Post ID:

Here’s the real issue..... unfortunately, the internet has given every jackass a platform to voice their unwanted opinion. Instead of trashing others publicly and hiding behind anonymity, why don’t you focus on how you can be part of the solution instead of being a part of the problem. Every time you point a finger, 3 point back at you.

by | Post ID:

Mad Dog seems like a real leader, anonymously call guys out by name while hiding behind a tough guy name like "mad dog" I'm guessing "mad dog" is a field service guy who can't handle a route. "Mad dog" blames everyone but himself for his failure in life. I'm guessing "mad dog" still lives at home while driving a luxury car he can barely afford. If "mad dog" had a pair of balls he'd put his name on the post calling out Jimmy and Mark, but he won't. "Mad dog" will wake up to his laundry folded and breakfast made by his mommy while remaining tough in anonymity.

by | Post ID:

YES Jimmy Cheese and mark Baxter two of the biggest RATS around. Can’t even fix an outage the right way.

by | Post ID:

The problem isn't lack of votes, the problem is that nobody wants to be on the committee and get singled out. You need people in the shops willing to be representatives before there can ever be a vote.

by | Post ID:

You mean scabs???

by | Post ID:

Its funny that people mention names but the pro union guys that started this left are not part of the union in Manhattan or Queens .....they start there union crap here and leave but relocate to a union shop and not join????? MEOW!

by | Post ID:

ok Nostradamus

by | Post ID:

I find it funny how you want to call out people by their names but you, yourself, remain anonymous. That’s pretty cowardly, no? Ive worked with both of those guys for a long time. Despite that fact, I don’t think it’s prudent to call guys out like that unless you wish to disclose your identity. You can say “watch what you say around some of those osp guys” but no need to throw names out there.

by | Post ID:

A union isn't going to help a thing. You union guys can't have it both ways. You can't claim we "sold our souls" and that ATS is going to replace us all with contractors AND claim that we can "save ourselves" by voting to unionize. For the millionth time, Altice showed exactly how they would deal with unions; they formed another company, didn't allow any of you that voted union to come along, then stated anyone not in the new company would be phased out within five years. For the life of me, I cannot figure out why you union guys even care. According to you, on this site, you have it made. You're the only ones with job security, decent benefits, etc. yet you come on here and badmouth your fellow employees in the worst possible ways. We're all fools, we sold our souls for a bonus, we all are going to get fired and we deserve it, we were all too stupid to save ourselves, etc, etc. That's a heck of a recruiting campaign! If you union shops (all two of you) have it so good, what do you even need us in ATS for? You'd think you would just laugh at We were doomed from the moment the Dolan's sold Cablevision. No union is going to fix that. You union guys can be out just as fast as us ATS guys since you have no contract....and before you try the "same - same" argument, a lawyer could outmaneuver your contractless "same-same" argument in a second if they really wanted to. You're not the priority right now, but you will be just like the rest of us. First it was the $300,00/yr corporate types, then it was everyone whose age + tenure equalled 70, then it was almost all of middle management / warehouse/ call center / roc /etc. next it's going to filter down to those who didn't qualify for vrp but who make more than starting pay of $15.38/hr. They might pick off ATS techs first because they will do it with metrics which costs them nothing. That's why they raised the bar so high (77pts a day, QC/VOC/Repeats/Safety Same) because since no one can maintain these numbers they can use them to eliminate as many as they want. Win/Win for them. They get rid of you and your high hourly rate and they get to deny you unemployment because you were let go for cause. Do you really think they haven't thought this through? Your union vote isn't going to do anything.

by | Post ID:

We were talking to the IBEW last year ... everyone wanted to hang on and see how ATS played out ... lol .. so we were told if we go to the website you can print out cards ... just sign them, and Mail them to hall.. I was ant union myself..... but it’s not the same around here ..... time to turn the tables on these fools ....
