Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Broadcomm sent out proxy forms to shareholders yesterday to vote however in the press release it stated the offer stood at 70 dollars

I am perplexed .Before Christmas it was indicated in the press that they would increase their bid .

Why didnt they ??????? What does this signal?

At this point, the stock holders HAVE to go along with Broadcm, because if they don‘t, the stock price will stabilize back to where it was before, and the stock holders lose a lot of money. They know full well that they would otherwise have to wait 10 years for the stock price to reach that level.

It‘s basically a done deal.

Nothing is going to happen until each side get a measure of the strength of their position with respect to the opposition. If the stock holders lean toward the incumbent QCOM board/management, HK will have to significantly up his bid. If the stock holders lean toward the BRCM slate, HK will only have to make minor concessions. Everyone will know the results and which way the wind is blowing in March.

We will have a better idea tomorrow about future. Markets quickly gather information and price accordingly.

Yep. If the Broadcom acquisition doesn‘t happen, the stock price will drop like a stone.

BCM is only interested in the old QC with capital letters. New QC is different. Kudos to our Execs. They deserve the accelerated RSU vesting. This is not a golden parachute, it is a poison pill. Poison only for octane, for QC it is magic potion.

Do you remember the Qualcomm stock price prior to the $70 offer? Low to mid $50's. Does that answer your question?

I think NXP acquisition is a con, QCOM stock to crash before shareholders meeting.

So the press speculated based on zero facts, and now OP is shocked that it didn‘t actually happen?

His means that qualcomms worth is not more than 70 per share.

Does the lion gnawing on the wounded wildabeast need to up its bid?
