We all know that DC is a junk project and will be a failure. Our ingenuity is how long we delay it. Believe me all engineers in DC including me are pulling in all our efforts in this direction. Somewhat similar to money minded hospitals prolonging the death of terminally ill patients. Keep in ICU and let the expense of the patients skyrocket. We are doing something similar. There is a progressive hierarchy of incompetence from senior engineers to principal engineers to senior principals and our managers to the director. It is such a web of deceit that I am ashamed that fate has made me work with these fraudulent teams. I would have certainly preferred an honest living. Consolation is we are not dealing with human life as in the case of fraud hospitals. It is only Dell money. As one of the principals mentioned that Dell himself is a fraud and so everything is justified.
While talking to 2 cronies managers, Both said that they are 100% confident about DC failure and they are contributing a lot to the same.

My new year resolution is I need to learn all these politics, sycophancy, doing nothing,and taking credit and pay raise. These fellas written about extensively in this website are interesting lot. It would help many of us hardworking but stupid people if we learn these conmen tricks. BDC storage super techies are masters in pulling wool over eyes of management. There are seventy people working in a dysfunctional project with junk design and code and still they can get through with the con. Years of mastery in falsifying reports, politicking, lazing around and not doing anything substantial have made them masters of this game. Only bad thing that happened to them was their chief accomplice and leader who was another useless director was fired in October. These guys are a case study on everything negative that goes in organizational behavior.
Same story in every large organization, politicking and boot-licking management! My ex-manager there denied promotion to any senior person until he himself got promoted, slowly folks left for better opportunities. AH is still there.

So called Leaders, Super techies and senior obsequious at BDC are least knowledgeable person at this center and they themselve are aware of this fact. Despite this they seek respect and praise. And guess what some does it being sycophant and some do by no other option left. Thanks to god, I am moving on without being belong to any category of sycophancy. To be in their good book you have to praise them, meet them, talk, tea, coffee, butter and what not without any reason otherwise they will make the way for your exit to safeguard themselves. In short, they are wolf in the sheep's clothing.
Well these so called successful people who decides the fate of others in bdc storage. Already their wings are clipped. Most of these so called leaders are now like dogs with their tails between their feet. They are all nervous on when the bell will toll for them and they meet the fate of their foolhardy leader.
my previous job was terrible because I was working and reporting to douchebags directors. So I made extra effort to get to know my manager and his style before joining Dell. Dell is not better than my previous job but my manager is, and of course the pay. For the past year my manager retired and replaced by this devil reincarnate. So definitely move on, it won't be Utopia but will be paid more and if you take the extra effort to check out and choose your future manager and team, it will be better.
If you think you are going to end up in utopia, a company that is way more better than Dell or a director who is just perfect for you, I hate to break it to you, you are mistaken. You will be surprised at how similar most of the companies are, same set of people move around, chances are you will be writing about your new director on this site in a year.
Many of us are of course affected by these stupid evil people. But again it's a two way street. You should not be silent about abuse. Good that the super successful and powerful guy was successfully made to move out adding one more success feather to his crown. BTW I have moved on and serving notice period.
Agree this site is about whining. Don't understand what you gain by whining against such a successful powerful people. Although laid off unceremoniously he might land up as a VP some other company. So just be careful. World is round.
seems a bit whiny isnt it calling people stupid and evil when the real stupid is you guys whinning and still working under and hugely affected by these "stupid and evil" yet successful people. Of course everyone's situation is different but I don't see how whinning about the people that has the upper hand going to help. Either get good and powerful or just shut up and leave.

If any of you know the companies where the James Bond director is sneaking in please make people aware. There are recorded hr cases of abuse which the hiring managers should know.
Attrition in BDC is less because majority are overpaid and underskilled..They won't get equivalent jobs outside.
After their paid vacation BDC Storage Directors and super techies would debrief the team in meetings and all hands. They would say outlandish lies like how they were praised and how great they are that folks in Hopkinton were lining up to meet them and discuss their technical problems for which super techies have solution. Hope all these are stopped now.
in here for fun. You must not be with Dell for long. Some remote managers fly in in the name of relationship building face to face (personaly thinks team building makes more sense since we work with these people from our team and other functions 100x more than that one functional manager) and vacationing with a free tour guide called ypur subordinates. Every VP and directors ever.
Directors from MDC are in town next week. I asked my manager what is the agenda. She is also not clear and said they want to review our projects and create some yearly plan. The answer is not convincing. Why the heck are they coming half way across the world to do a review which they can do through remote. We don't know if they have any agenda or are they just in here to have fun.
