Does anyone have any word on what’s gonna happen this year with AP?

AP Managers left in large numbers, after they discovered Sears never focused upon actually catching thieves. In fact, catching a thief was frowned upon. The Sears "always fearful" of lawsuits, etc. After all, Sears is into image -- at least what is left of it.

; Our TVs are just sitting on pallets with a direct line of sight to the front doors. I know we got hit badly a while ago when half the pallet's worth went right out the front door, but I have to guess that more have gone one by one since then.

AP is just a waste if its not implemented correctly. We have 1 associate in our store that is not certified and is completely a waste of payroll. The AP manager is never in our store. (Probably havent seen her in a month). She covers our store and another since shes a multi-unit AP Manager but her excuse is that the other store takes most of her time. I find ink tags all over the store on a daily basis, people just walk out even if the alarm door sensor goes off, pliers in the fitting room, empty packages in corners of the store, you name it. At this point, whats the point? Just give those hours to another department.

I wish we still had AP. Word has gotten out to the local community that we no longer have AP staff, so shoplifters have gotten very bold with theft. 2-3 pushouts a week. Not sure why we still have airsoft and paintball guns still out for sale... They get stolen weekly. We did have knives in the cigarette case, but DM said no...

Our AP only comes in once every two weeks and all she does is walk around and find safety hazards. I'm good with being safe but every day we see people stealing and walking out with full shopping carts but we have been directed to not stop them or even say anything to them. I don't get it.

Back when we had AP they were doing non-AP stuff like merchandise pickup, freight and even ad set. They were shamed in to "helping out" because none of those areas had enough of their own people. Just like those of us on commission were shamed into helping out softlines and backroom. Needless to say, their focus was taken off of their own tasks since they were part time.

Since AP really is separate from the store staff, I'm not sure if this was even allowed. It would be like having Lands End or the Auto Center work in other areas of the store outside of their business unit. The store manager that conducted this is no longer here as she made many other of her own calls that were against policy. She wasn't even their manager, their direct report was the district AP.

Ap in the northeast is the biggest waste of time. They only have 25 hours to spend, but absolutely nothing gets done. The amount of merchandise that gets stolen is ridiculous.

We do need changes to AP at our store no one is certified to even catch anyone and the person who can do it barely works there. So it's just a waste of payroll like the previous poster stated that can be used for sales support. I bet their are a lot of stores with this same issue.

I hope its truth I am fed up with always seeing AP in my store be a waste of hours. I see people stealing I call them that I see some suspicious activity I never get a call back. I always see one flirting with all the softlines acting like hes the big shot, but nothing is getting done. Its just a big waste of hours at this point those hours can be used for MCA associates along with cashier to continue running whats left of the company.

The post that stated no cuts, that is not true. Cuts were made in March last year, instead of the first week of the fiscal year. Cuts are coming and I can confirm this from my boss whose I report to who use a Regional

manager.

I assume you’re a market manager?

No changes at the store level. Current openings at the Region, Market, and Zone level will not be filled due to consolidation. There will be fewer regions and markets and they will all be larger.
