Thread regarding Cabela's Inc. layoffs

Another Round Sidney Corporate Next Week

It’s my understanding most if not all the conference rooms at Sidney Corporate are booked for next week and it’s not vendors.

And so it was the week of February 12th that all would know about their job at the great and wonderful CAB! I did finish my popcorn and bought some more Old Crow so now it's time to wait until March 1 to see the mass exodus from CAB Corp! Seriously though, it grunts!! Cabela's did a lot for the town of Sidney and also decimated it at the same time. And now, it is going to take several years to recover. Even worse for the people that are stuck in the community for one reason or another. Good luck to all in their future endeavors wherever they may be!

I am no longer in the area did not make it through the earlier cuts is there some news?

Still have some friends there just hungry for information.

Creator of poster was right on the money !!

by | Post ID:

So, is this next week now? Or do we have to wait another week? My popcorn is getting stale and I've run out of Old Crow, Should I pop another batch of corn and go get some more Old Crow or wait until the week of the 19th? Getting thirstier by the day!!

"You want Cabela's and Sidney to fail"

Dude. You are delusional! I have no impact on whether the town or company succeed or fail. NONE.

Do you really believe, that a post on this site will help or hurt anything.

You really think that think positive thoughts that it will stop layoffs or make home prices rise. YOU CAN'T CHANGE ANYTHING? And that's a fact.

by | Post ID:

So you are not trying to destroy Sidney just Cabela's ?

by | Post ID:

In regard to the merging of the computer systems. I am guessing on my part. however I stated I thought bass pro and Cabela's may operate as separate companies on the books. YOU WOULD HAVE NONE OF THIS. You want Cabela's not be operated as a separate company on bass pro books even if it cost 10 billion dollars. However if you are the owner of bass pro and you can treat Cabela's and bass pro as separate companies on your books instead of facing a huge cost of merging the system maybe you would do it. I know CABELAS acquired two companies and they are still treating them as separate business on the books.

Get a life this is not about Sidney at all

by | Post ID:

I support Cabela's and Sidney Nebraska . You want Cabela's and Sidney to fail . The difference is I post states which are allowable with my background. I analysis the situation and post a statement which seems to be in line with the fact. You on the other hand simply post the worst possible situation for Cabela's and Sidney. The truth is I didn't post their would be no lay offs. I simply disagreed with you that bass pro would fire every employee nationwide in one of your posts and in another bass pro would fire every Cabela's employee in Sidney. In regard to the length of time the merger would take . You stated this was a very simple merger which would be completed in two months and would with out a doubt be completed by the first the year. I stated I thought this merger was very complex and would take perhaps two years to complete. (you reword my post to say three years.

Ahh yes more bitter attitudes on the discussion board yawnnnn

"'1800 layoffs in Sidney. Operations will close. 50 Cabela's employees will be absorbed by BP. All buildings shuttered in SIdney. "

That's not far off the mark...pretty good call from 8 mos. ago.

I believe the "Mr 30 yrs" theory was "nothing would change and there would be dual headquarters" and no merging of the computer systems because that would take three yrs. So no layoffs.

by | Post ID:

True it is always Sidney this Sidney that I have had the displeasure if visiting that community with my trips to corporate,. A very egocentric nepotistic community. Yes Cabela's got there start in the area.

Get over it it is not just about that little hell hole on the prairie, so many people's future is a stake.

And we have one solitary I individual who has made himself the sole Messiah of Cabela's Bass Pro and Sidney doing nothing but causing problems and not being part of the solution

by | Post ID:

All I here is Sidney. And my heart goes out to them. But does anyone know what happened to Broomfeild Office .my freind says she has to be postive .and all i here is from her is that we are ok.

by | Post ID:

My guess is the Mr. Long term resident and employee posted this so called post himself in order to Garner his fifteen minutes of Fame and glory and to satisfy his rather large ego

All the claims this individual makes about the same person who post and replies to himself is probably him/her.

Crying wolf and foul at the same time.

And no I did not post the previous post

by | Post ID:

That's your story stick to it

All the problems of Sidney Bass Pro and Cabela's can be placed squarely on the shoulders of one fictional individual that you have deemed an insurectionist

Wow

by | Post ID:

thousand. I think one is closer one who post bs like this '1800 layoffs in Sidney. Operations will close. 50 Cabela's employees will be absorbed by BP. All buildings shuttered in SIdney. Watch!

8 months ago by Anonymous | Post ID: " I will go back an find the post . which I am referring to the Cabela and Sidney ne hater posted in the past. this is one of them

by | Post ID:

Mr long term/employee is here to save us from ourselves,

Why do you insist that it is one person writing these post that you whine about. When there are probably thousands. If people who come here making comments

I do believe the individual that pointed out your shortcomings and faults in the previous post was not asking YOU where to locate the information concerning Goldman Sachs of the BATF, but was asking. A general question on where to start looking.

Once again proving to the majority be of us that you are part of the problem and far from the solution

by | Post ID:

Clearly you know it all I am sure you would also know how to find the information as it is fact. Keep sugar coating but the day in and outs tell the story all on its own.

by | Post ID:

As usual the Cabelas now bass pro hater is wrong. My suggestion to him is for once try to be somewhat objective in your thinking .

That rich coming from you when the only objective thoughts you ever have is to accuse anyone or everybody of being a Cabels/Bass Pro or Sidney hater. The minute their is a post that contradicts or fails to pass your litmus test of factual.b

Where does one find the articels mentioned concering Goldman Sachs of the Issue with the BATF and the license situation.

by | Post ID:

I am not a hater of neither actually still for the time being employed. But if you actually read more than just the posts on this page you could educate yourself a little further. Maybe read the most recent article from Goldman Sachs on there current view on what is happening with the repayment? Or look into the ATF looking at pulling license for selling firearms due to stolen guns. Clearly you look only at what is in front of you. You must be just young and naive.

by | Post ID:

As usual the Cabelas now bass pro hater is wrong. My suggestion to him is for once try to be somewhat objective in your thinking . When you just post as fact the worst possible outcome for Cabelas or the town of Sidney the odds are you will be wrong most of the time and in all honesty the odds are you will be wrong all the time.

by | Post ID:

He may be safe for now but I would highly recommend anyone that does not want to be without a job to brush up your resume because doomsday is lurking. The writing is on the wall and I think when you piss off the company that funds your deal your days are numbered. Stores will start to close both BP and Cabela's it's far from over looks like someone may have bit off his nose to spite his face.

by | Post ID:

Hey everyone...don't worry about the very vocal "30 years at the DC," he's safe...and he will monitoring this site for ANY anti Cabelas or BP postings. So watch it!

by | Post ID:

What departments were hit today?

by | Post ID:

I’m a new poster so I don’t know anything about what’s happening at Sidney but I can tell you I lost my job as a sr manager in the store a little over a week ago. I came to this site in the months leading up to everything and a lot of information ended up being factual, not everything of course but most of it. And honestly in my opinion and from what I heard from several sources before I left and who are still with the company most of the remaining people at corporate will be let go except for the departments already deemed safe by Johnny in his memo. I know people at corporate don’t want to hear it but the writing is on the wall.

by | Post ID:

i don't think its broomfield just sidney

the same people are working on Facebook.

by | Post ID:

Shut up you pompous a--. The reason we are here is because the Cabela's family wanted out....and wanted a gigantic paycheck. They got the gold mine and we got the shaft!

by | Post ID:

Obviously not working if you have time to monitor this site. One of the many reasons we’re where we are now.

by | Post ID:

I am currently working at my desk and this is not happening. CRAP!

by | Post ID:

Yep. Its started already. Folks getting let go at Corp. and posting as such on LinkedIn

by | Post ID:

I think that Cabelas had the best social media. they should let Broomfeild run the show. I really bought they are closing.

by | Post ID:

The social media results were way over hyped, way too much was spent on it, constant cost over runs, fake ROI...time to cut bait

by | Post ID:

Springfield

by | Post ID:

they can't who will run the social media

by | Post ID:

o gosh. i have a friend there. she been mum about the whole deal. at least she is in Denver. more job to be found

by | Post ID:

yep, the lights go out in Broomfield next week

by | Post ID:

Is Denver getting hit next week
