Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

HR......please spill the beans on what questions were on the assessment for SM

HR, now that the shoe is on the other foot and your being pushed out .....Share what you know!!! Help us out . We had SM last year who had worked for Macys for 20+ year had high score cards, great business, team players and staff love them, but the VPSM did not.We were all surprised when they were let go and bottom performer who fake it out were kept. They were the one's that text the VPSM with every detail. They were also under 40 years age and with the company 6 years and under. Did they rank the SM?

HR, what are the metric and question on the assessment and who checks to verify that the information is correct???

"Duh" glad you clarified your name. It's "Duhs" like you that are going to run Macy's into the ground even worse than what it is now. I've worked for Macys a couple of different times and have some years invested. As a frontline sales associate on the floor, my job is to make the customer's experience top notch. If you are a manager, my performance makes you look good. And by the way, I have more corporate and sales experience in years than you've been alive most likely. Instead of being disrespectful to the older generation who really do know what they're talking about, listen and learn. Everyone can learn from different people no matter how old they are or their background. But when you use "Duh" in your language, it makes it hard for people to take you seriously.

Another duh on "no vpsm input"! Of course there is input or actually even an advance indication to the HRM who the VPSM prefers. Or, even before that decision, the HRM already knows who the VPSM prefers to work with. I was a corporate executive assigned to a region and was once or twice asked by a VPSM for a brief assessment on the productivity, efficiency and consistency between two SMs prior to a decision to retain. Of course I prefaced it with "as related to my regional function".

Put down the kook aid. Of course VPSM’s have a say or direct bosses of anyone who’s at risk. There’s an assessment but input about you is also provided. And if you’re not one of the sheep, buh bye. And they will give you the “oh it was so close. Just one point on whatever said metric”. So don’t be so easily fooled by what they tell you as far as there is no input from your boss. Total>TOTAL BS

Macy’s is full of horrible backstabbing fake executives. If you’re not liked, bye bye. They don’t give a sh-- if you work hard. If you don’t laugh and gossip and tattle tale, you’re useless to them.

Duh, don't be rude the SM put in 20+ year and a lot of hard work in to Macy's. maybe they would of move on in a couple of years with dignity and had the respect from the company that they give so much to." REMEMBER KARMA IS A B#tch" you will not be young all your life"

When they did the SM assessments last year, there was no VPSM input. I believe annual reviews were part of the equation, but there is very little adjustment that a VPSM can do to slant that result. The long service person could have been on a disciplinary warning? That would have immediately put them out. I was on a warning, but none of my peers knew, so it’s possible.

Duh! Out with the old I’m with the new! Do you think a 20+ year Manager is going to be an asset in 10-15 years! Helllll no, they are transitioning to a younger company! Duh!
