I was told some of the marketing managers were making too much and that's why they let all of us go. Just so the next day, they could post the same job with a different title. Some all RMMs have been with the company for a long time so they were getting paid fairly. I am sure Bass Pro has some Event Coordinators that have been there for just as long, so I don't understand how it's fair they just let the Cabela's side go. Makes no sense to, I believe it's bad PR that the RMMs are the point of contact for a lot of area organizations and all of sudden they are gone.

I've noticed a lot of the posts on this board where Bass Pro is interested in your time and not your knowledge. Hence, moving people down from salary to hourly. BP only has to pay for the time you have worked. Doesn't seem to make you want to improve upon what you might have been hired to do originally. Also from some of the comments, if you make too much hourly, you'll be gone too in favor of a lower priced employee. Good luck people!!
B P eliminated the position of promotions/marketing managers about 8 years ago. New positions are hourly as special events coordinators.
