I saw a disgarded cover page in the printer at building 11 that was titled ‘Acquisition and Purge Strategy‘ Anyone know what this would be ?
It’s surprising to me that nobody has noticed (or commented) that just as BlackRock Financial put Chuck Robbins on their Board of Directors, all of the good funds in the Cisco 401k retirement plan were removed and replaced with 3 BlackRock funds... read more
I survived another LR - maybe that is not good thing. I have been rotting for last 5 years at Cisco. Been here too long and have lost my skills as I became a PE. We are just BS men with no value at a startup in the valley. Overpaid yet can’t live on... read more
On my way out of the B10.3 cafe I came across a print out of a spreadsheet titled satellite offices. About 20% of the names were crossed out, such as Lawrenceville GA and Richardson TX
I've heard from several people that severance is being significantly lowered to further cut costs during layoffs, but I'm having hard time believing that. Anybody knows what kind of package was given to people in the latest round? Was it the usual or... read more
Hi Guys, I must admit that I have stayed with Cisco for just bit too long to the point that I am struggling to find a job outside Cisco. Need some advise on how to prepare for interviews. Need to be bit more hands-on. Feeling low due to constant... read more
There is a large scale attrition in CVP team at Bangalore. Four months back a new product manager joined and has completely spoiled the product. He cannot understand a simple customer requirement, blames engineers and convinces the people's manager... read more
Will there be any more layoffs this week to continue on what was started last week? Or was that it?
LR people, post jobs, claim internal applicants un/overqualified, hire H1-b.
Posted in another thread, but I think everybody should read it. I hope does not mind me reposting it. No, none of those roles are reserved for H1Bs. PS: I have an opening in my team that we internally to US employee groups (dev... read more
Is it true that the number of Scrum masters per BU is getting reduced by 40% by end of Dec-2018 ?
Not sure what my prospects are at this new company, does anyone think Lawrenceville will survive for 1 more year? Or is it better to find another job now
I was approached for the same contract position by 3 different partners. One was offering 85, other was offering 114 and the third one was offering 108 per hour. I was not interested at that moment but would like to know how to work and get the best... read more
Trying to find another job inside Cisco. Can HR rep for the hiring team see my salary?
Is that any layoffs news in San Jose.
The problem with the whole LR system is, at one time there was bottom 5% and Performance Improvement Plan (PIP). It wasn't perfect, but more skewed towards leaning to thinning the weaker members of the herd. The LR system now is roulette, you draw a... read more
Hear lot of news of layoff ... Is this one is India or usa layoff.
I heard yesterday there was quite a big meeting regarding details of the divestiture to Permira. Anyone knows the outcome ? Contractors are kept out of the loop for as long as they can ... not sure why though.
Is it true there'll be more layoffs today?
What's going on with the mass exodus in collab?
My girlfriend got laid off after 4 years today. Said 3 people on her team were affected. She works in HR.
WIthout SPVSS, and without YK, maybe SP will be able to succeed
Many teams have got notice to leave by September/October time. Plan is to acquire many more businesses keeping 2021 in view as existing businesses many not sustain revenues. SJ and RTP are most impacted. Bangalore is negligible. My team in enterprise... read more
On thursday (Aug 9), there is an announcement of hike given to Bangalore employees. It is 5% to 15% on average. Also some more hirings are being done here to offset SJ and RTP layoffs. All is good. Many Grade 10 and 11 will be promoted to 12. Already... read more
It has just happened. Today my manager had one-on-one and told that my contract is not getting renewed for this quarter due to budget cuts. This is in SP group. Looks like lots of cuts are expected across the board. Time has come and its real !!
I've been with Cisco for more than 5 years as a contractor and renew quarterly by SOW, but sadly just told that my status has changed to temp worker, and I can only work up to a year, then must leave. Anyone has a similar experience?
Simeone told me 6 Aug may be layoff announcement. Is that true.
Specific orgs? Grade levels? Types of people?
A major customer renewed their contract for nearly 1 billion euro. Five year term.

People, Cisco is NOT a great place to work. I worked there almost 20 years and my LR came in 2016 - when I was at 150% of plan. And I was considered a high-performer and was in the "diversity area" in my field. This is all a numbers game - Cisco DOES... read more
There is no value of talent in Cisco anymore. These rumours of layoffs are reality now. Better work in other companies or even startups instead of mentally torturing and blaming yourself. Many of the colleagues are having mental breakdown in Cisco.
Im not there anymore (was gifted in the big round in 2016 with my entire team, which they later decided to rebuild because they figured out after what value we really brought...logic?). That said I was there this week visiting a former colleague and... read more
