So let's get this straight. UTI hires me to do a job, which includes disciplining students when called for, then when an instructor "does his job", he gets reprimanded and sent home? How much sense does that make? This happened to one of our co-workers here at the Rancho campus today(for those that haven't heard yet). I am strenuously using this example to ALL my fellow co-workers, to BOYCOTT "enforcing the rules". Time for a "sick out" yet boys and girls? We must stick together and support each other because obviously management will not support us.

Pretty harsh words coming from a fellow instructor, I like it though, You can challenge quite a few of our fellow instructors and you will get the same results, FAILURE. F the blue flu and the union, tell the C.E.O. to pull her head out of her assand start hiring people that can do more than read slides. The disservice U.T.I. is doing is bad, the curriculum is out of date, some of the instructors are out of date also, so let Kim know all of this, she will change it, I am sure of it. MM is back at the Ranch Campus. Every time his students expose his lack of knowledge he goes out on medical leave. Any bets on how long it will be before he goes out again? The guy couldn't repair his way out of a wet paper sack. His students have to listen to all his negativity while being locked up in his classroom because he doesn't take them to lab out of fear of exposure. I feel sorry for his students and anyone else who has to listen to his poor me, blueflu, lets unionize bullshit. Steer cleer of the instructor's lounge guys. Miller is back!

I left years ago!! I saw this coming for along time. Management does not care about their employees at all!! They will mentally and verbally abuse you! They did it to me and I have no doubt that it continues today. It was great years ago. No problems however in recent years it has been very bad. I would not even consider buying their stock or ever working for them again!!! Very poor management starting at the very top!!! HR does not care either. They will do everything they can to protect themselves.

Doesn't look good for UTI if workers cannot even keep up the dialogue.

I knew that this post would peter out after time, either UTI has fixed all the problems at their campuses or you guys and gals got bored. Have fun at work today.

To anonymous 83488, you finally said the one thing that makes the most sense, you are a true instructor. I feel that teaching is what you put into it is what you get out of it, if you go in to it with a negative attitude you will fail. The students know when you are just going through the motions, knowing how to give that little extra goes along way with most students, not all of them though. Keep on keeping on. Mr. Dickhead.

For those 3-5 students I do enjoy teaching to because they are trying and want to learn, it does make it rewarding. I add so much extra information to UTI's outdated curriculum. To see the "I get it now" look on their faces is worth it.

To the spoon, you are right. UTI teaches outdated theory in their classes, so how do you expect a student to make it in the industry with that information. UTI get a clue, not every person drives a Honda, get into the 21st century and update your curriculum. As for living on 8 hours a day you need to get used to it because your days are numbered their, most shops don't offer double shifts. Go HOT ROD, that's some useful information. Oh yea, I do have a bad attitude, here is my apology, one more thing F off you whining P.O.S.

Does it make a difference in the price of chinese rice who can fix a car there or not? With all the outdated information and lesson plans laid out in damn near script, the school is about teaching theory not "heres situation 1a345,543,846 on a 1992 honda civic dx red with no ac CEL on.." You are partially correct NO ONE should be expected to work years of double shifts or screw others over to get on a double shift and people need to figure out how to live a 8 hour a day life. But really to just shit on your colleges like that makes you untrustable. Good thing you made it to UTI cause any reputable shop would have fired you with your poor attitude.

Too you instructors who work at UTI Rancho that know the other instructors who cant fix cars, you know I am right,as for the pot calling the kettle black, this dickhead can fix cars and teach also. I thought teaching was about helping people, not the money. Too you instructors that have to work double shifts to survive, you need to learn to live on 8 hours a day, for it is this dickhead that knows how much you make, 60000.00 dollars a year base salary with benefits sounds pretty good to me. You instructors make me sick crying all the time, put on your big boy pants and go to corporate with your concerns and stop hiding behind this website.

I'd like to address a lot of things. First of all the idiot who said 70% of us couldn't fix a car. Why run us down? I gave up being a technician at a dealership because UTI promised better benefits. Despite them going backwards on their promise they are still delivering in an area where dealerships fail. Unfortunately this is where any and all benefits end. My biggest point here is what would happen to all of us if this site were to be found out by students? The "news" would spread like a wildfire. What does the rest of UTI outside of the Ranch know or think? Food for thought
