Internal Memo Leak - Jacqui Ferguson, SVP for HP Enterprise Services in UK and Ireland

In the UK, part of our strategy for Enterprise Services is to move more delivery services to both our Regional Delivery Centres (RDCs) in Erskine and Newcastle and to our Global Delivery Centres (GDCs).

In aligning to this strategy in the UK, we have started consultation on our plan for the reduction of additional roles during Q2, with the UK trade unions and HPE employee representatives in the Enterprise Services Business Units.

We’d like to assure you that we remain committed to supporting the employability of our employees through a number of internal initiatives, including reskilling, redeployment and support to obtain alternative employment, as appropriate.

I have found that the roles in the US that have moved to India, such as FAMs, are able to use the tools, but don't understand the business to know what they are doing.

Accounts payable issues are difficult to resolve, painful to deal with... Also in India. The FAMs are not able to do what the FAMs in the USA are able to do.

What will happen once they turn it completely over to them? Decline and self destruction. No one seems to know what is going on in upper management.

As an ex manager of EDS HP, I can say with certainty, that in order to survive and prosper as a manager, you must lie to employees about raises, training, bonuses and job security. You must oversell the customer and at the same time use as many offshore resources as possible (rarely, well I have never heard of it, do they meet any deadlines, any quality standards or any budget requirement). When a contract is signed for an I T support service, the contingency, the training budget and most of the quality budgets are moved into the profit column and bans on training, travel and using contingency are put in place. In the UK, working for EDS and having them on your CV is not considered a desireable feature. The company has so many x employees in senior positions in potential employers, who harbor such high levels of animosity, it is hard to find employment outside of EDS HP. It has been on the decline for many years, and will gradually decline until it is gone. And, good riddance.
