Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

My whole group was fired today

My whole R&D group was fired today

(Operations orchestration in Israel)

They were an excellent group of developers and they are all gone

It's both horrible and surreal,

If you are still there I suggest for you to start looking this company is in a fast downward spiral

there's no time or grace period, i got the notice at Monday and 2 weeks on Friday was my last day, thats it. Never thought this would came to my department (Arcsight), i should have done something earlier, i hate employment gap in between.

to current HPE employees, if this could happened to all of us without warning, this will happen to you too, start look for job elsewhere

i was part of the WFR (work force reduction), my last day was the week before thanksgiving, manager did not have any clue until the day i got notice. FYI im in sunnyvale, CA office

There were lots of APM focused engineers affected at Yehud site too, not just OO.

HPE Software just said goodbye to their San Francisco Bay Area ITOM software business. 1 very successful veteran sales rep remains and not a single presales solution architect to in the district; 3 for the region. Very technical products will require depth of technical knowlede and in almost every case validation then support by the folks who were let go in Yehud and elsewhere. Decisions in a vacuum while reorganizing debt structure does not equal increase revenue; more like false profits.

3 presales guys in the AMS West were WFR'd today.

WTF - no software presales technical guys in the SF Bay Area.

Sure, we all saw that article. I guess what I'm trying to decipher is what this statement means:

"We will bring together HPEs’ Helion OpenStack and Stackato solutions with SUSE’s OpenStack expertise to provide best-in-class, enterprise-grade hybrid cloud offerings for HPE customers”

That statement seems to imply that SuSE will be the OpenStack experts going forward.

If that's true, then what happens to the hundreds of people employed by HPE, working on OpenStack?

by | Post ID:

If all of this is true, then what's going on with OpenStack?

Poster #5 : were you working in the Seattle office?

I am trying to figure out what's happening with OpenStack at HPE. Based on what I've read here, over half of the people working on Stackato were laid off. According to your post, the teams working on CSA and Cloudsystem have suffered layoffs.

If all of this is true, then what's going on with OpenStack? I understood that HPE made a billion dollar commitment to the product, but all these layoffs don't bode well for it's future at HPE.

Just got notified of my WFR which has targeted the sales and pre-sales organizations. Seems that they let go of some pretty successful individuals with proven track records. The HPE Software merger with MicroFocus seems to be on shaky ground.

Sad corporations are now actin at their worst in history.profits and more profits at all cost. It was almost overnight they got this power to act in such ways.

OO is one if the best product that HPE got through acquisition, to date it's still the best orchestrator on the market. Too sad to see what's happening to OO team. I hope you guys will find a safer and better place soon.

All the best

It was done at he Yehud site in Israel

People that were great engineers and served Mercury and then HP and HPE for more than 15 years

Were thrown out without a second thought.

The only kind thing that was done is giving us 3 months notice

Overall I think that around 200 people were fired today

Not all of them got the 3 months grace period afaik

So sorry to read this! I was part of downloadbesttorrentblog.rus that happened two weeks ago. My entire team (part of CloudSystem) was let go and I know of entire teams (CSA) that were let go in previous rounds as well. There is no telling when this carnage will end! So sad for those of us who started when Bill and Dave were still around...
