Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

They're pulling more people into Vivify meetings

Saw a post on the Newsfeed of a manager asking if he could know why his employees were being pulled into Vivify meetings. They deleted it this morning.

Leads you to believe they're polling employees to see if they think the managers are any good and should keep their job, or they're going to be getting rid of more analyst.

State Farm is on some bull sss. That Tacoma email that came down the pipe was only given to first line Leaders the afternoon before. No meetings to talk about it just here ya go. Leaders, rank and file it did not matter we all are in for a shzzz storm. SF like so many have said in here is not in reorganization mode. They are in react mode trying to keep the ship from sinking. We are literally running out of work to process on the operation side. We have structure studies going on in every dept under the sun. Our executives are retiring in droves. They know something is up so they are grandfathering in their pensions. I'm not just talking Systems executives retiring it's across the board and had been happening to my knowledge for at least two years now. Raises r a joke and it looks like EIP will be less than 20%. The thing to do is to get what you can and leave if you can. I say that because SF will work you right up to they tell you your dept and team is no longer needed and you will have let good JOPs pass you by trying to watch and see. Or good external options

I am an ISD business analysts. Have not heard or seen of any more movement at the analysts level. We are told manager choices will be announced first half of February at which time I anticipate analysts will be on the chopping block - maybe this is too brutal of a term, hard to say. Probably won't hear much about IT transformation for a month or so.

I left last year and found a job that I absolutely love going to. I got onto a team where everyone gets along which was something I had anxiety about. I found some greener grass.

I had no ambitions other than punching the clock, mostly because there was no point. My career hit a brick wall when ICP rolled around and all of systems was plunged into chaos, and after 4 years of beating my head against a brick wall and having nothing to show for it, I went into "time clock" mode.

Now that I've been laid off, I'm actually starting to get excited about the idea of finding a job where the environment isn't so toxic. No one really can say how it will all turn out for me, but I am hopeful.

Correct. The fanny kissers are safe. The "lifers" that nod, say yes, and have no ambitions other than punching the clock will survive. This is exactly the type of person State Farm should be purging.

It’s all about what people think of you. No wonder nothing ever gets done. Only the rear end kissers get kept.

To hell with discretion.

Well how dumb is that manager to post that. Bet he/she will be out of a job and probably should be. Discretion?!!!
