Centurylink employees didn’t get a bonus this year because the new CEO got a six million dollar sign on bonus. The exact amount the employees would have gotten in their bonuses. La Crosse, WI Centurylink had begun laying off its already dwindling employees in January 2018. The La Crosse operations days are numbered.

Level3, Ellen St Germaine in Broomfield is cutting several employees who question her focus for the company. I heard that All the people that work for her, hate working for her and if she finds out they will lose their jobs.
CenturyLink seems to be coming apart at the seams. Everyone is unsettled. No one feels safe. Management tells employees that they shouldn't worry about their jobs that they are safe. Then they get RIF'd. The truly disturbing part is that they continue to preach William Clark's "Do The Right Thing". I guess it only applies to people outside of management. I do believe that there are good managers and not all are bad. However, the bad overshadows any of the good. For those still working for the "New CenturyLink", have a plan-B. It's apparent that you can no longer trust the words from management.
If you were "fortunate" enough to make it through a RIF, that doesn't mean you're safe. It may just mean that you have been given time to activate your plan-B. If you never have to use it God Bless You. BUT, don't take this merger lightly. I've watched over the past few years how CenturyLink has taken steps to become just like the other competitors. To be the same with how they treat their employees. So if you hear others talk about how bad it might be to work with these other telecom providers be aware that you're heading down the same street. Management will try to refocus your thinking and tell you the customer is the most important. Guess what? They're wrong! YOU ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT! If you treat your employees well they will in turn treat you well.
Lastly, remember that they preach their "Unifying Principles". They tell you to commit to these. I won't list all of them here. But, when they intentionally break their own principles how would you even trust working for them? Fairness. Really? Honesty and Integrity. Really? Respect. Really?
My time is up with CenturyLink. My heart and prayers go out to all of those affected by this last series of layoffs. I hope you all find greater happiness and prosperity in your next adventure.
Agree with previous comment about sales leadership in east, known as the Brady Bunch. Corny tactics to raise awareness that sales-force numbers are low. The leadership is asking us to commit opportunities for May that don't exist!! Just to make thenselves look good...and what happens when they don't close?? Look out, here comes the ax. I could use the summer off anyway. These people are a joke !! Sales people stay away !! You'd be better off applying at a shoe store, at least there you'll get support and sound sales advice !!
Level 3 taking over- its a horrible work environment. Layoffs last Friday saw only GOOD Centurylink sales people go. East leadership in sales is a joke. No direction, no support. I would sue the hell out of the company if I was laid off. !!!

My dad was laid off today. 41 years of employment with various telecoms bought out by others. They treated him like he had been fired. Made him clean out his cube in 15 minutes and took away his access card. He wasn't the only one.
I don't know how they think they're going to automate sales engineers. Their sales people are unethical, uneducated, and narcissistic. He was the only cog in the machine keeping them honest.
CenturyLink has been squeezing the employees. Now there isn't a lot left to squeeze out of them so expect them to be cutting them loose. It's called burn and churn. No quality at all. Customers are hurt by this. If you tried calling them you would know why so many are already fed up with the multi transfer hell they have been in.
Level 3 is not interested in quality employees. If they were they want their customers taken care of. They are interested in automation and repetitive recordings that drive their customers crazy and leave them bitter.

1000 more laid off today. To be officially announced Monday. They said it was due to redundancies and automation. The funny thing is, a bunch of people on my team who write automations were laid off, so that's a bald-faced lie.

Jeff Storey, CenturyLink’s president and COO, and previously Level 3’s president and CEO, was awarded a $6.6 million signing bonus to be paid in two equal installments. Also, CenturyLink CEO Glen Post was given a $3 million “integration award.”
Stewart Ewing, who previously served as CenturyLink’s chief financial officer, received a $1 million discretionary bonus based on his “performance related to merger integration activities over the past year.” And Sunit Patel, CenturyLink’s chief financial officer and previously Level 3’s chief financial officer, received a $1.3 million retention award
Home Depot paid their employees $1000 this week too. Centurylink don’t care about its employees!! There will be more leaving soon!

I was laid off on Friday the 12th. I started to feel the snake crawling up my leg when I found out that the Level 3 CEO would be the new boss. Cancelling the Christmas Bonus did not bode well. I expected layoffs later this year, not in January. I am certain that there will be many more.
